Ladnier left to visit his son on Lilly Patch Road in Moss Point and never made it to his son’s home. He has not used any of his bank cards and his vehicle tag has not been scanned by any local or interstate tag readers.

His vehicle is a 2004 red and maroon Toyota Tundra, with a Mississippi disabled tag, DB0034Q.

I know we can’t share social media posts but just wanted to say that Mr. Ladnier’s case is getting a good bit of attention via SM so hopefully that will help to get the word out. He is still missing as of this evening. His family appears to be very serious minded and active in his search. Praying he is found soon!

Mr. Ladnier’s truck was confirmed seen in Mobile County, AL area. I believe this is opposite direction that he was believed by family to be heading to visit his son.

UPDATE: Missing Hurley man seen traveling in Alabama

Sheriff John Ledbetter told WLOX that officers are actively tracking Ladnier’s travels by collecting surveillance video footage from local businesses and homes throughout Mississippi and into Alabama.

According to MCSO, Ladnier’s red 2004 Toyota Tundra was found backed into an abandoned driveway within the 9100 block of Chunchula Landfill Road. The truck was discovered by Mobile County Road and Bridge personnel.

MCSO detectives and the MCSO crime scene unit responded to the location. Authorities found several personal items inside Ladnier’s truck: a pillow, a computer bag with a laptop inside, $146 in cash and a pistol holder with no pistol.

Once inventory of the truck was completed, it was taken by a towing service to MCSO Property Division.

The animals were able to track the scent of what they believed to be Ladnier to 8551 Chunchula Landfill Road.

The residence appeared to have electricity, but no one was inside. MSCO says it appeared to have been vacant for some time, and there was no evidence found inside that Ladnier had been there.

I hate the part about “pistol holder with no pistol” so much right now. Prayers offered up.

Joe Ladnier, the first man to break the 2100 lbs total for bench, deadlift, and squat, has been found dead. Authorities spotted Ladnier’s lifeless body on Friday, beside the road where his truck was also found in Mobile County, Alabama. The 60-year-old bodybuilder went missing on the morning of Christmas Eve on Thursday.

According to reports, the authorities informed Ladnier’s family before the news became public. Bodybuilding veteran Dave Palumbo was among the first to break the news. The cause of the 60-year-old’s death is yet to be determined. Investigators found Joe Ladnier’s red Toyota on Chunchula Landfill Road in Alabama.

Joe Ladnier broke the 2,100lbs total powerlifting benchmark in 1983 at the USPF Men’s Senior Nationals. The then-19-year-old lifted an astonishing 2110.9 lbs, winning the competition. He set the record in the 220 lbs category. Besides powerlifting and bodybuilding, Joe Ladnier served in the Navy and Law Enforcement.

However, during his Law Enforcement career, Ladnier got caught in possession of ste***ds. As a result, Ladnier’s sponsors dropped him, and many friends distanced themselves. The powerlifter also struggled with depression and PTSD and had some chronic injuries from his powerlifting career.
