<<In early October of 2008, Tran boarded a bus in Pensacola, Florida, where she lived at the time. She arrived at her destination near the casinos in Biloxi, Mississippi. She planned to stay for a couple of weeks to play barracat and visit casinos in the area.

On October 3rd, 2008, Tran spoke to one of her children via cell phone. She said she had been gambling at the Beau Rivage and was going to catch a taxi to the IP Casino Resort and Spa. That was the last contact she had with her family. They became alarmed after not being able to make contact with her for several days via cell phone. They decided to wait and see if she arrived home on the bus as scheduled. When Tran did not arrive on the bus as planned, she was reported missing. Due to the delay in reporting, no video surveillance was able to be obtained in order to build a timeline of Tran’s movements. Investigators were able to find that the last phone call Tran made was in the early morning hours of October 4th, 2008 when she called a friend. Tran did not use credit cards, so tracking those activities is not possible.

Tran had recently retired and had sold her nail salon that she had been the owner of for years. She carried cash and would frequent Louisiana and Mississippi Gulf Coast area casinos. There is no record of Tran being picked up by a taxi and taken to the IP Casino on the date she told her son she intended to go.

Tran’s family does not believe she would leave them behind without explanation. They believe she has been the victim of foul play. Tran had previously planned a trip to her home country of Vietnam later in the year. Her family said that if she were alive that she would have made it to Vietnam. Tran left behind four children and a husband. Her case remains unsolved at this time.>>
