RCMP in British Columbia - Missing Person Anniversary

The 45-year anniversary for missing person, Murphy WILLIAMS, will be occurring on August 15th, 2019.

The Dawson Creek RCMP received a report of a missing male on August 15th, 1974 from a family member in Fort St John, BC.

Murphy WILLIAMS was last seen at approximately 03:00 hours the morning of August 15th, at a farm residence near Mile 30 on the Alaska Highway where he had been working for the previous 2 days.

It was reported that WILLIAMS was acting strangely throughout the night and when the farmer woke up around 07:30 hours, WILLIAMS was not located in the residence and a thorough search of the property and surrounding area was also negative for him.

Murphy WILLIAMS is described as;

  • Aboriginal
  • 35 years old at the time he went missing
  • Approximately 170 lbs
  • Approximately 5’8 tall

This investigation remains active and ongoing with the Dawson Creek RCMP continuing to investigate leads and following up on information already provided.

Multiple resources have been utilized including, the RCMP Police Dog Services, RCMP Air Support services, Search and Rescue, and multiple local community assistance.
