FYI, I see this come up a lot in NC when a young person’s disappearance is announced with a silver alert. Silver alerts are issued for anyone with a suspected cognitive impairment. Don’t assume she has dementia based on the missing persons alert.

FWIW, the hotel apparently is no longer a Quality Inn, and is now a Red Carpet Inn. The Yadkin River Greenway, a part of the Overmountain Victory Trail, is right next to the hotel, providing a short walk to the river. It's also adjacent to Highway 421, the major E/W route through Wilkesboro, and 268, a major N/S route. I stayed there last year - it's not a very pedestrian friendly area apart from the Greenway. The hotel was undergoing renovations then to become a Quality Inn. Since that didn't seem to work out, there might still have been ongoing construction there at the time RAW went missing.

Summers said the three people were all 16 when reported missing and that two have been located. In addition to these three and the Hamilton case, Renee Ann Walker, 28, of Purlear was reported missing to the Wilkesboro Police Department in July. More info about Renee’s disappearance in this article: Family desperately wants to hear from Walker

Authorities are continuing their investigation into the whereabouts of a 28-year-old Wilkes County woman reported missing about three months ago, as well as investigating the murder of a 26-year-old woman whose body was found Oct. 19 in Wilkes.

Law enforcement officials have declined to comment on any possible connection between the disappearance and murder of Kadejuia Nicole Hamilton and the disappearance of Renee Ann Walker of Purlear. However, they have indicated awareness of the possibility of gaining information on one of the cases while investigating the other.

Walker’s cognitive impairment affects her social skills, making her overly trusting when trying to make friends, Severt said, adding that she is a very sweet girl. “We hope someone hasn’t taken advantage of her for being so trusting,” she said.

“Renee does not have the daily living or social skills to pack up and leave town to start over…. There is just no way she would leave like this and go so long without having any contact” with her family.

Severt said the family wants to let Walker know that they love her and that they desperately want to hear from her in some way.

I find it odd that Renee Walker's name keeps coming up in the reports about this couple's crimes. It makes me wonder whether that's a strategic move by LE.

Authorities are also investigating the disappearance of Renee Ann Walker, 28, of Purlear. On July 9, Walker’s grandmother told a Wilkesboro officer that Walker was missing and that she hadn’t seen her since June 19. According to a police report, Walker was staying at the Quality Inn in Wilkesboro and checked out of the motel on June 29. She is a 2010 graduate of West Wilkes High School.

The Silver Alert has been canceled, although I can't figure out if Renee Ann has been located. The Wilkesboro PD FB posts have not been edited and there are no MSM updates that I could find. Hopefully she is somewhere safe.
