Hurdle was last seen in Bismarck, North Dakota on November 2, 2021. He left Bismarck High School, where he was a student, at 8:54 a.m. and was last seen near Memorial Bridge at 9:45 a.m. A police dog tracked his scent to this location, then lost it, and a witness reported seeing a man jump from the bridge into the Missouri River.

Hurdle had gone missing one time before, in July 2021, and when he was located he did not remember anything, not even his own identity. His parents said this incident was an isolated one and he had never done anything like that previously.

Authorities believe Hurdle is probably deceased, but he remains classified as a missing person because his body has not been found. He was a straight-A student at the time of his disappearance and dreamed of becoming a professor.

His remains were found on Sunday.

Partial pants, a shirt, glasses, a shoe, and dental records were used to identify him.
