This guy is scary dangerous. He didn't only threaten to kill Amber, but also her father.

... In the [2015] petitions, she wrote about how her husband would "rant and rave." She said he accused her of falsifying their marriage certificate, acted paranoid about cars that drove by their home and worried about her talking to other people. She wrote that he was violent, punching walls and breaking photo frames, and had threatened to kill her and her father.

Even though this states "No Bond", he did post bond on February 1st and he is out of jail.

OMG. Imagine the fear the entire family has felt for years, and imagine what they are going through right now. My heart breaks for her parents and for her children.

A missing wife and past protection orders are typically not a good combination, JMO.

Lets presume he killed her. He doesn't seem that smart to hide the body. So where is she?
LE will need to secure search warrants in order to uncover his movements, ie: phone pings, gps, bank transactions, social media, etc. in the hours and days surrounding her disappearance. It takes time. Hopefully there will be sufficient information for them to narrow down an area or areas to search.

We can also hold out hope that someone comes forward with camera footage or a report of suspicious behavior. MOO

Cass County is mostly farmland, though I would not describe it as "wilderness". Accept near the Platte and the smaller tributaries, the terrain has few trees. Plattsmouth sits at the convergance of the Platte and the Missouri rivers. It is bluff city and has the only real elevation in the county. Most of the area consists of fields of row crops (corn and beans mostly). The black jaguar would stick out anywhere in Cass county...pretty much any vehcile like that or that does not have "farm" plates would stand out in most of Nebraska. However, Lincoln is straight west and Omaha is directly north of Cass county. The vehicle would not necessarily stand out in either of those cities.

The most likley place to dump a vehicle in the area would be in the platte river and probably on one of several minimum maintanence roads turning off of state highway 66 and that end at the river. It should not take too long to find this vehicle if it is anywhere in Cass County....IMO.

I agree, a lot of things you've stated are very likely happening right now. It is going to take some time unless there is a surprise development. In the meantime, I imagine he is being watched like a hawk. JMO

The area between Lincoln and Omaha got 14 inches of snow two days before she went missing. Some of it has melted down a little now, but no one would be driving on any minimum maintenance roads, corn fields, or into the river. You’d get stuck in a snow bank before you got too far in any of those situations. (Source: I live on a country road in the snow covered area)

Very good point! I did not think of this in terms of this particular case, but you are absolutely correct. The storm you are referring to produced the most snow recorded in a single day in the area since the historic blizzard of 1975.

As an aside, and not knowing whether this might somehow be relevant to this case, the Weeping Water Public Schools were closed on Monday, January 25 and Tuesday, January 26 due to the storm. If her children were enrolled in the local school system, I think it's likely they were at home for the two days prior to her disappearance. It hasn't been reported if Amber was at work during those two days, or if she was at home because of the storm.

So many unknowns and no recent updates.

Have not seen this article posted here, but this was published on "News Channel Nebraska".

PLATTSMOUTH – The Cass County Sheriff’s Office is hoping the eyes and the ears of the public can provide leads into the disappearance of 48-year-old Amber Tjaden of Weeping Water.

Her father, former Omaha Mayor Jim Suttle, said the family is working with the sheriff’s office to find the woman who has not been heard from since last Wednesday.

Cpt. Dave Lamprecht of the sheriff’s office says investigators have no idea where Tjaden might be. He said the more people who are looking for her and her black, SUV-style Jaguar, the better.

He said investigators tried following the navigation system equipped with the Jaguar, but said her OnStar service had not been activated.

A subpoena of her bank accounts have not shown any activity and Cpt. Lamprecht says her phone must be shut off because searchers are not getting any pings.

Tjaden, a former Omaha Public Schools teacher who has been heading the Gateway to College program at Metro Community College, has been working from home during portions of the pandemic.

Cpt. Lamprecht said her husband, Matthew Tjaden, tells authorities they had argued the day prior, but he does not know where she might have traveled when she left their residence in rural Weeping Water.

Her father said Tuesday the family is hoping someone will see her vehicle. The license plates on the black, 2019 Jaguar, Model F-Pace, are 20-T638.

Meanwhile, Tjaden's husband, 38-year-old Matthew Tjaden, was released from custody.

Cpt. Lamprecht said he was arrested due to uncooperative behavior with the missing person investigation.

Authorities say they went to the residence for a welfare check and noticed Mr. Tjaden pulling up in his pickup. Deputies say they tried to stop the vehicle, but Tjaden did not immediately stop. A low-speed pursuit went for a couple of miles. Investigators say he became agitated at their questions and attempted to leave with two minor children.

Tjaden is the daughter of former Omaha mayor Jim Suttle, who served in office from 2009 to 2013. She had previously for two protection orders against her husband in 2015, one in Douglas County and one in Cass County.

If the 2019 Black Jaguar is seen, please report the incident to law enforcement authorities immediately. Any information can be received at the Cass County Sheriff Office, (402) 296-9370, or contact Investigator Tony Hemmer.

Not only that, the Platte River is rising in some areas because of all the snowfall and the melting.

To Note:
•It's been one week since Amber Tjaden vanished, and family said there is still no sign of her.
•Tjaden is the daughter of former Omaha Mayor Jim Suttle.
•Amber's daughter, who lives in Omaha, asked to file a missing person report.
•Those court documents say Amber's husband Matthew "never called to advise his wife was missing and he was the last person to have contact."
•when they tried to talk to Matthew, he led them on a pursuit with him and Amber's two sons in the truck.
•he is now free on bond, facing charges for the pursuit and child neglect.
•as of Wednesday, they have little new information.
•Suttle hopes people will remember the SUV and report it
•her two sons (10 & 12) are currently with Suttle
