Age
: roughly 73 years old
Name/Alias: Cornelius Wagner, born Munster. This name was on a paper he had with him and also used by him on 2 occasions.
Length: 1.77m
Weight: thin posture
Clothing: From Salvation Army (Leger Des Heils, they help homeless get clothing) and with German labels indicating clothing originating in Germany.
Other: Purple "Climb High, rainforest" sleeping bag
Teeth: bad, not possible to do a dental research because only 3 teeth.

The man who spoke fluent German wandered through several cities in the Northern Netherlands (Groningen, Friesland?, Flevoland) in June and July 2020. On he 17th of July he was found deceased (natural causes) near a bench at the Zwolseweg in 's Heerenbroek (Overijssel, near Zwolle).

Before that time he was spotted/spoken to by police in:
- Beerta, Groningen at 15th of June 2020. He indicated to police that he didn't want any help
- Bangeweer, Groningen at the 22nd of June spoken to briefly by the police. He indicated his identification papers were stolen. He said that he came on foot from Germany since 3 months ago because he had to leave his rental house and was headed to the South.
- Emmeloord, Flevoland on the 12th of Juli. Police brought him to the salvation army where he got new shoes and washed his clothes (and maybe got new clothes) and food. He said he was headed to The Hague to get new identity papers.
Apparently he didn't head for The Hague (which is in Southwestern direction) but rather to the Southeast where he was found 5 days later in 's Heerenbroek.

The police couldn't determine his identity. He only had a paper in his pocket with a few names, among which "Cornelius Wagner". Which they checked and found out that he used this name in his earlier interactions with the police. They checked the identity in Germany and found out that the name was not correct. Nobody was born in Munster with that name/date of birth.

He Spoke fluent German, which leads the police to assume he is from Germany originally.

Video in Dutch where the details are explained:
Listing in Dutch on Dutch police site: Politie onderzoekt identiteit van overleden man

Since this is such a fresh case, with such a clear origin from Germany, hopefully this man can soon be identified.

Some of my thoughts:
He indicated he was moving for 3 months. That would mean that he went away from his home late March, of course it's doubtful whether this information is correct. Is there a specific date peoples leases end normally in Germany?
given the Distance he traveled in the Netherlands: roughly 140 km in 1 month, we get to a distance of up to 400km into Germany from the border with the Netherlands. That brings places like Rostock, Berlin, Leipzig, Frankfurt into range.
The question is though why he would travel to/through the Netherlands, and especially why he ended up so Northerly and was going South, that would indicate he might have started from a more Northern side of Germany. Also he of course doesn't have to have went by foot for all of the indicated three months. Distance traveled before also can either be much shorter: slightly more difficult terrain + inexperience or longer: more energy, first part not by foot.

His used name, Cornelius Wagner is also that of a famous German painter.

this case has been removed from the dutch police site, so i assume JD has been identified.

Yes he has been identified. As can be read in DPG Media Privacy Gate

An interesting case: He was listed missing in April, but in May he was found walking in Northern Germany in good health. As such he was no longer marked as missing.

A police woman in Friesland who talked to the man in June was given his real name by him and found out a few weeks ago that he was listed as an unidentified deceased.

Wow, a bizarre case for sure.
