There are lots of images online of the Kajuru Castle, a private house in castle style built in the 1980s by a German expatriate to vaguely resemble European castles and rented out for parties and events with a small capacity for overnight stays (five rooms).
The kidnappers did not enter the castle, but drove up to the door. To the left of the door is a tower hosting the five bedrooms. The stairs of the tower are on the outside, so the kidnappers saw Faye and Mathew and shot them.
You can see the view from the staircase here in the videos below. As the guests walk clockwise around the tower, they move from inside the castle to facing outside the front door on the staircase from where Faye and Mathew must have been shot by the killers.

This is how the killers approached. I don't know if they shot from near or far, from cover or from the open (go to 2 minutes 18 seconds):
"The family of Faye Mooney, a 29-year-old British aid worker killed in Nigeria by kidnappers, have paid tribute to her bravery and belief in societal change that “took her to places others feared”.
A Nigerian man was also shot dead in the attack on a holiday resort in northwestern Nigeria, 37 miles (60km) south of Kaduna, in which three other people were abducted late on Friday evening, local police and the British high commission said.
Kidnappings are rampant in Nigeria, where both locals and foreigners are targeted, mainly for ransoms.
Mooney’s family told the Guardian: “Faye was an inspiration to her family, friends, students and work colleagues. Her bravery and her belief in a better society took her to places others feared. We are so proud of who she was and of everything she achieved in her short life. Her memory will always be cherished.”
