Or maybe even a jacket with problematic translation.
I still feel relatively sure translators would be critical in communication. How’s the weather up yonder?

*A couple of details I didn’t spot:

“I saw my son crying because someone had threw his ice cream on the floor and after that he started pointing behind those buildings over there,” Noema told reporters while gesturing toward the structures located near the play area.

Police have not been able to confirm that the ice cream incident occurred, Gaimari said later Tuesday.
Amber alert issued for 5-year-old girl who vanished from Cumberland County park

Witnesses did confirm seeing the kids at the playground.

Police have video of the Bridgeton family visiting a custard stand about 45 minutes before they contacted police.

Maybe I have misread but a couple of things trouble me, so if I’m incorrect please let me know.

No verification the ice cream incident happened? There should have been evidence of this? This is a very important part of the story. Then they don’t have anyone who verified the red van? I was under the impression someone else had seen this happen? Now I’m concerned who is putting this stuff out?
Last (I feel horrible saying it) could someone have made her disappear to try and get dad back to the US? Could he have been a detainee that was returned to Mexico? Not meaning the mom did anything but it could be other groups here? Just thinking a different angle. This could be tied to the the threats also?

I agree, and it depends what type of dogs were scenting.

Hopefully they had air trailing scent dogs, instead of ground scenting dogs, since it wouldnt leave ground scents, showing how the offender exited, since we know she was abducted, and already inside a traveling moving vehicle at the time.

I know air trailing scent dogs were used in Laci Peterson murder, and were able to locate her scent as SP took her body to the SFB to be discarded.

I'm sure they also have air trailing scent dogs who also can trail live people as well for both of them, including the offender if they have been able to already locate his scent in the area he kidnapped Dulce, and left.

I'm afraid that is the only possible way LE can pinpoint which way he went once the kidnapping had occurred.

Of course if they find them on any camera footage afterwards will help them immensely, but may fail to show the exact route he used when leaving the park.

It seems to me that they should have mostly cadaver dogs out on this search if they think she is there, and that is hard for me to say.

All my four teens and granddaughter knew/know all that stuff. Their dad/papa is a race car nut and has been in the automobile business his whole life starting at Chrysler. I still don’t have a clue!

I live in a town in PA considered the Mushroom Capital. There are lots of mushroom farms with lots of Hispanic workers and families. It is my opinion that they know cars. Our car washes and auto stores are full on weekends. I am older so I am not sure of the latest term but Hispanic folks seem to "pimp up" "trick out" (whatever the latest term is) any type of car. For the most part the younger folks keep their cars in good shape here, the older guys drive around in the beat up cars. MOO MOO

Good morning OBE
Dogs reported to be blood hounds. Best in the business as I've heard.

I remember reading somewhere that Dulce’s mother said it was 3 minutes from the time Dulce and her brother ran to the park and the time the brother came back crying. Not sure is this has been confirmed but if it is true then whoever took her must of acted very quick.

10 minutes was reported here, by Mom.

"Alavez Perez said Dulce disappeared while she was playing at the park. Alavez told police she drove to the park Monday afternoon and let her daughter and her 3-year-old brother head off to a nearby playground while she remained in the car with an 8-year-old relative. The playground is about 30 yards from the parking area, police estimated.

Ten minutes later, the 3-year-old ran back to the car crying and pointing to the area where he said he last saw his sister, which included some storage buildings near the playground. Alavez said she searched for Dulce for 10 to 15 minutes, before calling her brother for help and ultimately notifying police shortly before 5 p.m."

agreed with the posters that feel she's nowhere near that park...but clues might be. discarded wrappers, cigarette butts, tire tracks...since LEO's have no "direction" as to where the van went, they have only the park to search.

has the amber alert extended to delaware, maryland and the greater philadelphia area? she may not be anywhere near NJ anymore...

I have wondered if they really do feel Dulce is somewhere inside that vast area. I think they do.

I think they may have very valid reasons for doing so, since from what I've read from locals there are dirt roads, and paths in the area iirc.

How vast of acreage, how many ponds or lakes are in perhaps wooded areas surrounding the park she was abducted from? Tia

I am sure the FBI profilers have been assisting for days now looking at his possible profile, which helps them get into the mind of kidnappers of small children, including their MOs, and where they possiblly take their victims soon after they have kidnapped the small vulnerable children.

Imo, they have reasons to believe at least Dulce is still there in the area somewhere they are searching. :(

They very well may have found footage that isn't showing them that she ever left that general areas.

We don't know what we dont know, but it's only logical with this many days passing LE does know many things by now.

Only they know why they are continuing to do searches in the area they are searching.

I trust them explicitedly including their decisions to keep looking for Dulce in this area.

Thanks so much chi. I was trying to come up with those exact terms when I was typing the post. I couldn’t get that drawer in my brain to open up.

Me too. I’m all about the Blue and the Green.

less than 3 minutes was reported here.
Mother of 5-year-old South Jersey girl apparently abducted in Bridgeton park grieves and waits
While Alavez Perez spoke with her sister about the little girl’s homework in the parking lot, Dulce and Manuel ran toward the swings on the playground about 30 yards away. They were out of sight for less than three minutes when Manuel ran back, crying and pointing to a spot near park buildings, she said.
(Just pointing out the likely reason for the 10 minute/3 minute confusion)

- Law enforcement officials from various agencies gathered at a Bridgeton, New Jersey park Friday morning to continue their search for an 5-year-old girl they say was abducted Monday.

The search for Dulce Maria Alavez started at Bridgeton City Park Friday morning, where it all began earlier this week.

Search crews have been scouring the park in Cumberland County after Alavez disappeared while playing on the swings with her 3-year-old brother Monday afternoon.

Officials have exercised different strategies to find her include helicopter search, volunteer searches, media specialist, a dive team, sonar, and teams of dogs searching.
Massive search for Dulce Maria Alavez continues Friday; $25K reward offered

With the weekend quickly coming up for new school students, a fun at the park day would usually be a prime activity. With the mass coverage, I doubt there are too many in this area that aren’t aware of the goings on. Still, there may be some visitors that will arrive at the park that may just now be rethinking their days.

How do we have color and possible brand (Nike) of shoes and details of acne on his face but not even an approximate age range? Was he very young like college age? Middle aged? Older like 50s-60s+?

Hi, I have been following along here since around the morning after the Amber Alert. I have followed a few other cases on this site and when I heard about this missing girl thought this was one of the best places on the web to get good info. I appreciate that opinions are shared, but it is a respectable conversation that avoids unsubstantiated gossip.

I live in the area near Bridgeton. I visited this park complex with my children last month. I have not been to the playground where she was last seen. I used to work at the high school located very close to this area. I have some what familiarity with the culture and hope to share some info that may help the discussion here. I read through the rules and will do my best to stay within the lines, but please let me know if I overstep in any way not respected here.
I just hope that she is alive and found soon. It breaks my heart.

So terrified for this poor little girl and her family. Everything about this points to random stranger abduction, and statistically, the odds of her still being alive are slim, IMO.

I read through the thread but it would be good to know if there have been any reported attempted lurings in the area, with a vehicle description similar. I would not be surprised at all.

Prayers that this little girl is found, unharmed.

I have thought about this and looked at the maps since last night. I don't know why, if someone intended to harm her, they wouldn't do it right away and use the vast areas of woods and water available right there.

Personally, it makes sense to me that the person who did this probably knows the area well. They probably went to that high school and/or live in the area (or did in the past). They probably know the park well; they know the playground well; they know the roads and backroads.

I'm currently thinking that this is either someone from mom's past who fixated on the child and was able to gain enough information to know where to find her on that particular day (and also was from the area, etc.) and snatched the girl, hurt her, left her behind and went home.

OR, it's someone local who knows the park well and did the same as above, but he was just waiting for an opportunity

OR, it's someone local who lives near the park (adjacent to) or on a property with lots of wooded areas/access to dispose of evidence.

I assume law enforcement has thought of these theories and has run DMV checks for red vans/SUVs for anyone living adjacent to those woods. But that would be one way for a stranger abduction to work easily and he wouldn't have to run far PLUS he could take his time once he got home.
