EAST ORANGE, N.J. — JM, 14, disappeared two weeks ago after visiting an East Orange deli, and the girl’s PlayStation game was taken by police during an investigation where details are scarce.

“There’s a lot of heartless people out there,” the teen’s mom, Jamie Moore, said. “We got a couple of requests for money, for information, which I turned over to the police department.”

JM’s case didn’t receive much attention when she first vanished on Oct. 14, a Thursday — so family friends sent handmade “missing” posters to the Mary Murphy Mystery Facebook page. We decided to investigate.

Wow! There's quite alot involved here BUT the family and friends had to make handmade posters?

This young girl lost the food stamp card first trip. Came back and told mom. Mom told her to retrace her steps. She does. Now they got a guy that paid? Then he takes her to a second deli?

Add on an abusive (I'm sorry got confused) dad, whoever, but they don't believe it's him?

JM has been missing waaaay too long. JMO but no family anywhere should have to make handmade posters.

What country are we in? Let this child be found safe and unharmed, please!!!!

I assume the masked up male that was with her buying her grocery items may have had a car and they can get tags and make of car from security cameras?
The first market the mom knew about was a block away but how far was the other store (Poppies) she was seen at with the male buying groceries?
Also wanted to BUMP her back to first page.

A New Jersey teen vanishes after a trip to a local deli. She's been missing 3 weeks

"We are asking for the public's assistance and we urge anyone with information to contact our Tips Hotline at 973.266.5041," Bindi said in an email to NPR.

Further details regarding JM’s disappearance have not been released by New Jersey authorities, as the East Orange Police Department, the FBI and State Police are working together to find her.

New Jersey authorities say they have secured surveillance footage from Poppies Deli and U.S. Food Market, another store JM visited before she disappeared.

Police Chief Phyllis Bindi told reporters. Surveillance footage from the deli shows a man paying for her items at the store, but they did not leave together. The man in the footage is cooperating fully with police, and there is no indication of foul play at this time, Bindi said.

The Essex County Sheriff's office, which is working in conjunction with East Orange Police, is offering a $10,000 reward for any information leading to J’s location and safe return. The Federal Bureau of Investigations and the New Jersey State Police are also assisting with the case.
