NJ family find sealed 55-gallon drum with man's decomposed body inside

The unidentified family found a 55-gallon steel drum in a ravine on their Marlboro, New Jersey property on April 19. Police have since ruled the man's death a homicide and are working on identifying him.

''Monmouth County Prosecutors Office spokesperson Chris Swendeman told DailyMail.com that the family believes that the drum had been placed on their property the night of April 18, 2002. ''

The victim was described as six feet tall, weighing between 140 and 150 pounds, with dark brown or black hair, between 18 and 34 years old

Monmouth officials said the steel drum had been welded shut, and once opened they found the fully clothed adult male whose body had been significantly decomposed

''The victim had been wearing a short sleeved red, white, blue, and yellow striped golf type shirt in size XL, with the words Chaps and Ralph Lauren printed randomly all over the shirt. Carhart utility or carpenter style jeans, a pair of ankle high Chukka style black Timberland boots, Hanes Jockey shorts and a belt with a 3 prong belt buckle. ''

''Additional findings from the autopsy reveal that the victim had long fingers, and narrow hips, and a postmortem dental examination showed evidence of regular dental care, according to a release.

Police took a fingerprint from the victim that was put through state and national fingerprint data bases, but currently no matches have been found.''
