It is not mentioned whether it is Dutch elller Norwegian police who are going to Denmark later this month.

Dutchman Arjen Kamphuis is still missing after being last seen Monday 20 August. Nordland police district has now received assistance from the Armed Forces, and searches in Saltdalsfjorden with ships from the Coast Guard

Sunday morning, Nordland police district reports that they have started searching for the missing Arjen Kamphuis together with the Coast Guard.

"Before the weekend, we sent a request to the Armed Forces for assistance, and today we got the opportunity," according to Operation Manager Mari Lillestø in Nordland Police District to TV 2.

Searches are being done in Saltdalsfjorden, and the ship used in the search is KV Heimdal.

"Police resources are on board the ship, and search together with the Armed Forces," says Lillestø.

If there are areas that are difficult to access, the police will use smaller boats.

The Operations Manager says they work continuously with incoming tips, which come in on a regular basis.

They haven't got dogs, do they? So how do they search? with radar / sonar?

I would guess both Dutch and Norwegian police will go together because it is the Norwegians who are the main researchers here.

ZaZara: No, I dont think they have dogs, but who knows?

I guess that mountain climbing in Vågan sounds off for the safety person that he is known for
Could be..but most unlikely..it could have been for other area's..less daring or just in case?
Thanks @Chiatos I really couldnt tell the title of that book...

I didn't know there were mentions of two tents in the media...kinda confusing, dont you think?

Must be a good sign that Denmark is expended to the search...i hope

Maybe the search of dogs were already done and that narrowed it down to specific places?

A lot of involvement going on I do hope he will be found safe & soon.Arjen K seems like a very kind person with a lot of knowledge to be shared.
Prayers up

You probably can fairly safely conclude that he is not caught on surveillance camera in Denmark.

I can count up to five possible observations in Denmark, depending on the sources on which it is based. Before being officially declared missing, Ancilla mentioned two possible observations in Ribe on 28-29 August. On September 3rd, in Ribe, I've seen both a man and a lady mentioned that possible have observed him, whether it's two or one observation I have not been able to clarify. Finally, NYT and Norwegian police mention a possible observation in Esbjerg (geographically close to Ribe) but here is no date mentioned.
It is probably most probable that "Elvis syndrome" come into play here. It is most likely mixed up by desk journalists who have not attempted to form a big overview and the number of observations in Denmark is supposed to be somewhat lower than five.

Sorry doesn't work - if you click on the ship you can see a box that says "past track" which will bring up a map that shows the areas they seemed to have spent time searching.

Arjen Kamphuis hid on a freighter

Arjen Kamphuis may have been hiding in a cargo ship that left for Stavanger around the day of his disappearance. This is suspected by inhabitants of the port town of Rognan, near the place where the cyberspecialist's belongings were found.

In the vicinity of Stavanger, a signal was received from one of his telephones ten days after his disappearance on 30 August. There are also several reports from witnesses who claim to have seen Kamphuis there. Stavanger is located about 1,600 kilometers south of Bodø, the place where Kamphuis checked out of his hotel on August 20th.
According to residents of Rognan, a cargo ship with a cargo from the local factory Nexans left for Stavanger around August 20 from Rognan. That confirms a Nexans employee, who makes cables for the offshore and telecom industries, among others.

The Norwegian police are investigating that scenario, says assistant commissioner Bjarte Walle, who is conducting the investigation investigation, in a reaction. ,, This is one of the tips that we check. We are still working on that. We hope to know soon whether the information is correct or not. Just like that of other tips that we have received. ''

There is a big article in the paper version of BN de Stem of today. These are the highlights:

- According to skipper Geir Sundt, the Saltsraumen Straight isn't the place where kayaks would go geen plek voor kajakkers. He organises raftexcursione. He doesn't think that AK went there to paddle.

- He also does not think that AK would have got off the train at Fauske to paddle with his kayak: that day it was very rainy and windy.

- AK's friends are surprised that he had bought a kayak. He never spoke of going kayaking.

- AK had booked for Spitsbergen, but cancelled his booking before leaving for Norway

- AK had 2 phones: one made its last contact in/near Fauske on the 20th of August. The other 10 days later in Vikesa.

- Bodo has the most northern train station in Norway. Small planes leave from here to go further North and from here there are ferries to the Lofoten.

- There are very few tourists who stay more than 2 nights in Bodo.

- According to police, AK did not go to Lofoten, based on his phone data.

- Except for the receptionists at the hotel who checked AK in and out, no one has seen AK in Bodo. No one saw him at the hotel restaurant, nor at the fish restaurant, nor at the local café, nor at the news paper shop, nor at the mini supermarkets, nor at the sports- and outdoor shops

- In Fauske there is the base of the intelligence services where satellite data are analysed: Forsvaret Stasjon Fauske
Forsvarets stasjon Fauske – Wikipedia

- The armed forces give no comment

- It is unlikely that AK travelled to Stavanger by train, a trip of more than 20 hours

- A ship was lying in the harbour of Rognan, when AK went missing. That ship would sail to Stavanger and it also sails (when? regularly? or then?)to Canada.

- According to Ancilla, AK regularly made jokes that he would escape on a cargo ship if an Apocalypse would be imminent.

The mystery is thickening

Wow, it sure gets weirder by the day
So if he was not seen in Bodo (hotel, restaurant, cafe etc) it seems likely he had an alternative place to stay, cook and charge his device...?
That book that was found in the orange abandon tent what Lorrie posted before was published in a foreign language if I am not mistaken..
Also : " There are things that indicate that the tent and equipment do not belong to a Norwegian citizen. There are no missing people in the area, in addition to the Dutch Arjen Kamphuis reported missing in Bodø, Finstad-Steira adds."
