Ok someone plz explain to me how his Girlfriend for a few years can have her mouthpiece say she knew nothing about this. Is she blind I mean the guns were in the house .

The girlfriend can be sleuthed and discussed. Please be respectful.

If she is cleared by police then we will shut down all discussion about her.

Thanks,
Tricia

I think it's totally unfair for people to blame her when as far as we know she did nothing wrong, and it's not like she could call the police and they'd take away his guns. You're right - it's not her fault; it's the law.

I've been bothered they are putting her picture all over the news, until they know she was involved, I think for her safety they shouldn't be reshowing it now that she has been located. If she didn't know anything, she is going to need to change her name after this.

Is that how many people were there? I hadn't realized it was such a large concert! It's a miracle there wasn't even more lives loss.

:gasp:

I have a question about the bullets that came out of a gun like the shooter used. How big are they? Is it like a BB or a large bullet that takes down an elephant? Sorry im totally a no gun type chick, my iron skillet is what I thought I would use should the occasion arrise

All in all, not very big.

It is important to realize that bullets impart kinetic energy (killing power) in two ways: size and velocity. All bullets combine aspects of both parts of the equation

Some weapons favor the size part of the equation (Ak-47). Others favor the velocity part of the physics (M-16s). Some have both. Though gun aficionados can spend days debating which one is more important, all I know is that either approach produces lethal results.

“He was a math guy,” Eric Paddock, his youngest brother, said. “He could tell you off the top of his head what the odds were down to a tenth of a percent on whatever machine he was playing. He studied it like it was a Ph.D. thing. It was not silly gambling. It was work.”

In May, Mr. Paddock invited his brother Eric and his nephew, who is in his 20s, to a weekend at Wynn, where he had achieved “Chairman’s Club” status, his brother said. They feasted on expensive sushi and saw a show. Mr. Paddock said his brother had seen it so many times that he noticed that one of the performers was an alternate.

Maybe I’m just a big dummy but I can’t think of a way for someone to know the odds of a slot machine down to a tenth of a percent. I think the brothers interviews should be taken lightly since IMO it’s pretty obvious he’s understandably having a really hard time processing everything.

The sheriff commented that he would have had to be a “super hero” to pull off his plan. My thoughts are he intended to blow up the fuel tanks forcing law enforcement in that direction as well as assisting the injured and didn’t anticipate that security would be at his door within 12 minutes.

I’m still interested in the possible suggestion of accomplice. It could account for him having more guns than he could ever use in the room as well as two shooting areas. My only issue with that is logistically, how would an accomplice have escaped?

I honestly do not think Marilou had anything to do with it. She was his cover up and none the wiser. From previous reports she travelled a lot so she probably wasn’t with him a lot of the time to know when he was buying guns.
Exactly. My husband has no idea what I buy at the store and tuck away in my craft room unless I tell him. If she knew he had 5 guns in a safe at one point why would she suspect he had added 30 more? They weren't married so his safe was probably his and not theirs. He probably kept his own books. Likely paid cash for whatever he got so no credit card bills to look through.

I thought this today. She has been smeared and re-smeared. With great abandon. You know she will be some sicko's target now.

We are getting ready to start a new thread in about 10 minutes. Standby, please.

Did he aim for the tanks or were they stray bullets?

Anyway he didn't do his homework. Those above ground fuel storage tanks are double walled rolled steel. An above ground tank was hit by an airliner (Delta 191) and didn't fail. I'd say they are incredibly strong.

Physics maybe? Has there been any reports If he went target shooting prior to killing spree?

I think her picture started getting posted because they didn't know her location very, very early in the investigation. But I agree, at this point they should be cautious. I do know the Sheriff said they wouldn't reveal her location, so that's good at least. I always feel bad for the families of the killer in these cases too. I saw this really well done show on ID about the mass shooting at a mall in Nebraska which happened in maybe 2007? It was told from the perspective of the killer's family. It was really heartbreaking, you could tell how much his family was hurting as well.

I truly have no idea I was just reporting what I was watching on Fox News

Thanks.

Well, I knew McCarren was a few miles away from Mandalay, so I was trying to find a private terminal, and Atlantic seems to fit. As a pilot (former pilot?) he might have been quite familiar with Atlantic Aviation. I did a little more digging and found myself reading (yet another conspiracy theory) involving one or both of the planes he supposedly owned/owns. While I won't hussle down an conspiracy theory leads... I am curious about whether he still owns either aircraft.

Cariis... is fliteaware (or flightaware) that keeps track of planes and their history ??

I can't solve the puzzle of what this killer planned but I am curious if he still continued to fly on occasion and/or what happened to his planes??

Ack it's getting late... my ability to type and create complete thoughts is dimming. :( Maybe I'll pick it up tomorrow

Not that I can solve the puzzle of what this killer planned but I am curious if he still continued to fly on occasion and/or what happened to his planes??

I am also curious if he still owns the airplane(s)

You guys should watch ' Owning Mahoney" a great movie with Phillip Seymore Hoffman if you want to know how a casino deals with a high roller . I believe this was the casino in Atlantic City outside of New York. Dont want to spoil it for anyone but you will find the casino behavior appauling

Thanks for the reminder! I watched this movie years ago, with particular interest because a relative of mine new the guy the story was based on. It's really about the gambling addiction and how casinos have taken advantage of that or conveniently ignored that.

I'll have to rewatch it. I've forgotten much of it.

Am I in la la land or something? For some reason it feels like nothing is confirmed.

Has any media outlet shown his flight certificate?

Any banking statements?

It just feels as if this whole image they are creating is from the brother solely of am I off??

I think LE knows more than they are sharing and they are being very careful with what they have.
