I thought he might have had a police officers uniform or a SWAT uniform - that's about the only way he could have gotten away from the scene. To "blend in" just like he had done at the casinos.
Hearing he had personal protective equipment makes me wonder what he had.
Bullet proof vest? Helmet?
Kevlar clothing...
I still believe this killer was a career criminal who escaped capture for decades.

I wish a reporter would ask the sheriff which door alarm was going off or ask a hotel guest if they heard an alarm. And while I'm thinking about it, WTH kind of a door has an alarm in a hotel?

Surely it's not the stairwell door--I used stairs all the time in hotels and there is no alarm. Do some hotels have a quiet alarm if a room door is accidentally left open?

I do understand and I apologize if it came out that way. I am truly sorry but I have read so many posts for a week now implying he WAS mentally ill without any evidence. It wasn't posted by you so I should have omitted that part of my replying post.

Again, I apologize.

No need to apologize. But thank you for the gesture. What blows my mind the most, (and this is not directed at you personally) is that people are up in arms about the possibility of mental illness, Despite links to journal articles regarding the exploration of the possibility, and the fact that authorities came out this very weekend and literally cited that they think he had severe diagnosed mental illness, some remain totally resistant . (Again not you personally) At the same time, the same people are literally salivating over innuendo and thirst to inject conspiracy theories at every turn. Although conspiracy theories are the very antithesis of facts and the pursuit of truth. .

For me, the recent changes in the story are reflective of an ongoing investigation and a lack of chaotic 24/7 reporting which took place during and directly after the actual event, In other words, the dust is settling and the facts are rising to the top.

Some, insist that this is somehow nefarious. I will never understand the complete lack of demand of actual fact in the face of conspiracy theories and the investment in them to begin with. The facts have changed. Does it look good? No. Do I have a million questions. Yes. Is it an automatic validation of paranoid conspiracies. Absolutely not. The very same people will insist that those critical of conspiracy theories are trying to "mold a narrative", when in reality, it would appear that it is the other way around.

The mind boggles. JMO.

Thanks for your thoughts and words.

When did the alleged 70 or 72 minutes start? I assumed it started when the first volley o shots were fired into the crowd? And ended when they entered his room and allegedly found him dead.
Given that a lot of time , more than normal is reqd for anti terror preps, booby traps, evacuation etc etc.. the time of the first volley into the crowd MUST be on record. I'm unsure whether the bodycam footage was timed.. its likely it was?
But, the original reports were suggesting that the police were 'almost on their way up to the floor when the security guard was shot.
Entire shooting time, not counting the shots fired at the tanks was said to be 10-15 minutes depending on which report one believes..
Should we be adding the time he took to shoot the security guy through the door PLUS the 10-15 minutes crowd shooting to the 70-72 minutes response time- ending when they opened that door?

The timeline before was 72 minutes total, from first volley to breach. This expands that out to 78 minutes or so, with a lot of dead time in there at the beginning. SG went for at least 10 minutes, maybe even 15 without reporting it if everything on the old timeline stays the same minus his getting shot.

My understanding this was an internal alarm that security would know about but other guests won't hear.

I never saw any investigators the following day out collecting info in the concert area -- anyone seen any??

-Garden that is funny!
And yes it is unpalatable! Its like they need a “do-over”, unfortunately we have to standby for another spin on these very important details.

It is getting almost silly. There is cell phone calls about the security guy shot --
there has to be a whole bunch of timed things
Cell phones cop cars etcetc

This is a total turn around -- basic time stuff very odd imo

CNN @CNN
Man staying in Las Vegas hotel room directly below shooter says he did not hear first shot that struck hotel guard (link: http://snpy.tv/2y5xar3) snpy.tv/

Alledgy he shot 200 shots at the security guard -- how could someone one floor under miss 200 shots - or is that now not the case

But then all the holes in the door become a mystery??

Hi all; new to this thread but not to following the story. Two points:

1) Independent journalists have known that he checked in on the 25th for several days due to valet receipts. In fact, the person who asked the question during the presser is one of the ones who has highly reported it the last week. No idea why it took this long to come out or why the dates weren't provided correctly to begin with.

2) The guard story makes zero sense. Either he told the cops one thing, and they finally reviewed the video and saw differently, or they didn't share correct information all this time. But why even tell about the guard and make him out to be a hero if they knew this whole time he was shot before? If he was shot six minutes before the attack, why is it that the cops didn't get there for over fifteen minutes? Did he not radio anyone? Cops on the ground, and the official story, has been they didn't know where the shots were from which would be impossible if he had called to someone. So what was he doing?

Maybe needing to mess up the timeline because of how long it took to get up there

its a 32 floor elevator ride ??

It is tough to buy that guests did not call the front desk when they started hearing machine guns !!

or 911!

Anyone seen hotel guests interviews??

The only staff interview I saw was a valet and that was removed ??

Some of us feel the same as you do. We just can't talk about it.

Things will start to come together I'm sure. I wondered why Campos was not talking to the news and just went dark. IMO of course.

-AGREE! We are trying to connect the dots. This doesn’t at all imply we are placing blame, theorizing, etc. Its the natural progression of solving crimes. The timeline has been odd from the beginning. I hoped it would be clarified on 60minutes, it wasn’t. For myself it caused more confusion. Its why I was asking for footage from “storming the suite door down” and...as well, what they discovered inside. Where was the SG and how did he make contact with the SWAT...on and on.

-Now the natural question: how did this fly and form a story that wasn’t precisely fact checked??? Like a poster mentioned above, SG was shot either before or after. Unless he was unconscious for the last week there is no reason for that to be a ‘maybe’. Furthermore, did the FBI or LE meet with him for hours in order to establish the exact onset of this? He is KEY to it.

-It is sad that the victims have to digest the inaccuracies that have occurred.

-LASTLY, what footage does the hotel have? Are they in trouble because there was no official camera surveillance in and around the area, hallway, etc?

The thing that makes me question some things, is how quiet they've been with the evidence.

Other than the leaked photo, they've been quiet about everything. Everything, except the weapons. They couldnt wait to tell us about the weapons.

We can't know which door, how many phones, which elevator, etc.

New timeline. I don't think it has anything to do with security guard changing his story. I suspect they knew all alone security guard was shot before other people were shot. But that doesn't make police look good.

"Police have dramatically changed their account of how the Las Vegas massacre began on Oct. 1, revealing Monday that the gunman shot a hotel security guard six minutes before opening fire on a country-music concert — raising new questions about why police weren’t able to pinpoint the gunman’s location sooner."

Yes

that coincides with Sheriff trying to make it sound like they engaged a dead suspect -- how so engage a dead person?

From the beginning I said he did not strike me as all that bright Sheriff

this also might speculation only fit into the
crazy narrative that he planned on escaping

from the beginning that just sounded flat out silly reading dead peoples minds is kinda pushing it!!

But it might leave the taste of cops stopped further shooting if they got up there before a dead person could escape !

It is making less and less sense every day it is supposed to go the opposite direction moo

IMO, reporting like this is (understandably) causing some confusion: “… authorities said Campos was shot in the right leg by morethan 200 rounds that were fired through the door…” *
Huh? Shot in the rightleg by more than 200 rounds??? Shootermay have shot 2, 10, 20, 100, or 200 rounds thru door, IDK. But did “authorities” say that guard was shotin leg by 200 rounds?
Imprecise language. Other examples have occurred re thistragic event, perhaps some deliberately misleading or perhaps innocently misstated,IDK. Personally not ready to conclude w conspiracy theories of any kind. Atleast not yet.

ETA: tech probs, so having to cut & paste text, which somehowends up randomly re-spacing itself. Sorry.

BBM - Exactly!! :goodpost:

huge questions:

At last thurs presser they went out of their way to establish a new timeline, now thats out the window.

At Fridays presser the undersheriff was out there specifically giving a shoutout to the security, saying he saved countless lives by interupting the shooter. How on earth does this change so dramatically?

Where did the 200 rounds at the security guard come from?

Where did the stories of guard helping LE until they forced him to get medical attention?

Why so little detail provided on how this guy seemingly barricaded a large section of this hotel OUTSIDE of his room.

All this crazy info changes and LE wont talk again until Fri?

I never saw any investigators the following day out collecting info in the concert area -- anyone seen any??

-I posted one report where they were walking through the site and cell phones were “ringing and ringing”. The cell phones that got left behind from the people who were at the concert.
