LOL, why? Corporate crooks aren't going to help working class guys. They have no special skills or knowledge and even less compassion for others. All JC needs is his own attorney and some peace and quiet. He doesn't need to be in the news media telling ***you***anything. Let him go back to work when he's ready to do his job. He's probably on short term disability now. Let him rest and recover and get on with his life.

-Betty,

Please retract your stated opinion/assumption of what I said.

Nowhere did I even slightly imply or suggest that a ‘FORBES Top 5’ is a Corporate Crook, more importantly don’t translate for me at all. I’m personally not comfortable with using those words, and “if I” were to go on record to say that a person or entity is a ‘crook’ as you say, it would not be casually referenced or as my opinion only. That is a serious term.

*I haven’t ask JC to tell *me* anything.

Vegas is moving on. They are showing their ad "Vegas Strong" to conclude the "horrid" thing that happened. It's all over. Safe to come back now.

It's what they do in Vegas. It's their "way".

Avoiding The Security Dogpile - Some companies have resorted to a hands-off policy. . .

10-02-2017, 1:45 PM – 2:45 PM
Speaker listed is the Executive Director of Security, Eldorado Resorts:

You lecture, you train, you discipline, yet time after time, a simple trespass arrest turns into a fiasco. The security takedown makes for great theater, but it disrupts the operation, costs money and can cause injury. Some companies have resorted to a hands-off policy just to avoid these costly episodes. This session will discuss some proven methods to keep our officers safe and maintain our dignity while maintaining an effective security operation. […]

Just real odd.

"Mesquite, Nevada (CNN)He seemed so ordinary, just another house-hunting retiree, when he strolled with his girlfriend into the sales office of the Sun City development in late 2014. The agents had just what Stephen Craig Paddock was looking for -- a 2,000-square-foot, two-bedroom stucco rambler on a cul-de-sac.

Other houses might offer bigger floor plans, but the one on Babbling Brook Court had two big selling points: a commanding hilltop view and, perhaps most importantly, privacy. Neighbors lived to the left and right, but none behind the home. Paddock quickly said he'd take it..........
.........Soon, Paddock set about making alterations to his pumpkin-colored ranch. And his deep desire for privacy had the opposite effect: It drew the attention of neighbors.

Paddock erected a solid mesh privacy screen that blocked his neighbors' view of his home. About 20 of them signed a petition, and the homeowner's association ordered him to take it down, neighbors said. The HOA refused to comment.
Neighbor Scott Smith said he couldn't understand why anyone would want to obscure a gorgeous view of the town below. "Why would you not have that lot for the view? Obviously, he wanted privacy."

Another neighbor said Paddock told her, "I don't want to be looking at people, and I don't want people looking at me."

Good, it's exactly what they should do. Boston came back. New York came back. Orlando came back.

I hope Las Vegas does too.

The speaker for the “Avoiding The Security Dogpile” lecture was from Reno, but the global annual event is about the gaming industry.

I'm well aware. And the G2E began the day after the mass shooting. I wonder if that might have changed this lecturer's narrative. IDK. I'll ask around.

I do know that the security officers at my property do not employ a "hands-off" position. Ever.

Paddock was attempting to drill a hole in an adjacent wall, perhaps to mount another camera or to point a rifle through, but he never completed the work, Lombardo said.
Thank you ... but today JC agreed that the sound of drilling turned out to be bullets.

Another mystery, why did SP start shooting at JC in the first place? He wasn't knocking on SP's door...he was walking away...why blow everything right then?

"Paddock, who had installed three cameras to monitor the approach to his suite, opened fire through the door, spraying 200 shots down the hall and wounding the guard, who alerted other security officials."

You answered your own question. He meant to kill, not wound, the first responder(s). And, obviously, it didn't blow "everything." He still managed to murder 58 people.

In terms of how he managed to break the windows out.

I thought it might be hard to break them with just a hammer. I wondered if he used one of his electric drills to drill some small holes into the surface of the windows (I believe the glass itself is pretty thick?), and then maybe pounded the tip of a screwdriver into the holes with a hammer.. .just as a way to get some initial small cracks in the large plates of glass. From there, he could just use the hammer to smash the rest of it open.

I think there is someone here who worked at a glass company.. what do you think?

I don't know if drilling a hole into glass would work... wouldn't it just break the glass? I don't know. I do know my husband was in a wreck last year, and had to break the glass out of the truck to get out. That hammer was very effective. But I don't know what kind of glass that casino has, nor what kind of hammer was used.

JC wasn't a first responder, he was just an unarmed security dude in the hallway not really paying attention to his door..I'd wager SP had even seen him around before.

Just seems overkill to shoot off 200 rounds into the hallway because a door slammed, and later at a maintenance guy..jmo

And the operative word was "could" have blown everything.

The number of guns he had was also overkill, and the explosives. The guy was pretty much into overkill. Seems pretty consistent to me.

IMO they didn't even have to address the money part.
But it was purposely pointed out. Why?
Was SS paid for the CNN interview? Who cares!
Makes me wonder why it was mentioned to begin with.

Isn't it typical that the news outlets don't pay for interviews, but do pay for photos/videos etc, whereas talk shows pay an appearance fee?

Maybe they specifically addressed it because some people would have assumed he ditched the news shows who were not paying him in favor of the Ellen Show and getting paid.

At least the money got donated to help victims. I'm ok with that.

Has MD been cleared yet, or still on the radar?

Actually, it turned out that JC WAS the first responder. I believe SP thought he would be besieged by Security and/or LE, hence the number of shots through the door.

But not haphazard at all in his planning...he put much thought into every aspect..then freaks out at a lone security guard, who took off, and then he stops his carnage to shoot 200 more shots at a maintenance man - was he sfraid SS would alert LE after he'd been hanging out the windows, in full view of 20,000 people he was mowing down? I can't begin to get into his head, but I think this aspect is telling.

I have a question. Is there anyone posting here that does not understand the phrase "Stay on topic"? I am not trying to be flippant. I really want to know because I am beyond stressed seeing this thread go off the rails AGAIN because people wanted to talk about Sean Hannity ( and a couple others) being a conspiracy theorist.

Hannity was not in Vegas when the shooting happened. He has nothing to do with this topic.

If Hannity starts in with a conspiracy theory it will not be allowed on Websleuths because the owner (that would be me) thinks he is NUTS and knows he is not a reliable source.

If anyone would like a personal explanation as to what "stay on topic" means feel free to send me a PM.
