That is a good question. I have know idea why. The only thing I can think of is that the people that knew him don' want to talk about it publicly. They may be talking to law enforcement.

Texas shooter is young. High school classmates still remember him well. Town was small. Church community was small, so he was known better. Texas shooter served in the military very recently, in close quarters with other people as opposed to Paddock living anti socially. Texas shooter had a lot of run ins with the law. Small towns talk about that sort of thing. Getting picked up for escaping a mental health care facility is also going to generate a lot of talk.

I could go on and on, but I think it's pretty clear how different these two individuals were, and why one was so well-known in the community.

His former employee spoke about him. His brother spoke about him. A couple neighbors spoke about him, granted they didn’t have much to say bc he didn’t interact much. A car dealership person spoke about him. Marilou obviously hasn’t spoken about him, and I don’t blame her. The guy was a loner. I’m sure in his last years, he didn’t interact with many people besides Marilou and casino drink waitresses. He was 64 - it’s a totally different generation. They don’t feel the need to run to the media to be in the spotlight the same way the younger generations do.

I don't think going on gambling cruises, playing the slots, or flying planes really necessarily lends to getting to know people well. Plenty of people have said what their impressions of him were, and none made him sound social or particularly outgoing. Texas shooter did memorable things beyond just being a pompous asshat like Paddock. Texas shooter stalked, raped, beat animals in public - very memorable stuff.

One more thing to cause speculation as far as I'm concerned.
All these people had nothing to say and that is exactly my point.
Age is a moot point. The guy knew how to set up cameras on a laptop, used cell phones and obviously knew the basics of technology. And that alone means there should be a digital footprint of him. So where is it?????

I’ve mentioned it before, but my husband and I like to gamble. He does tables, I’m more of a slot girl, but I do like the intensity of tables so I am up for both. If I sat next to SP at a slot, or played at the same table as him, I couldn’t tell ya. I don’t remember any fellow gamblers from the casinos. Be it AC or Vegas.

I am sure she is very aware that she is under scrutiny. I don’t think it’s reasonable to expect her to talk to the media about him when she can’t even travel without being flagged. Not to mention I’m sure she’s mortified. Imagine your SO doing something like this????? She didn’t have to come back to the US. But she did.

It's been an active investigation for over a month. LE should be able to tell from computers and phones anyone he spoke to, any site he visited etc. I'm hoping when the lawyers start on behalf of the victims, we'll start getting answers. Although I'm not holding my breath too hard here.

Bears, I have a question on Vegas comps. I find it odd that reports are that he was gambling 10,000 and 20,000 sessions the last few days, but was only comped three nights in a regular room. He had to pay for his night in the suite. When we used to go to Vegas and Reno once a year we barely made it to the second tier yet they would comp us three nights in a regular room.
With the amounts he was reported to be gambling, doesn't it seem odd that he wasn't comped for his forth night in the suite?

You can always submit a FOIA request to try to find out more info. Since you’re not a US citizen (as far as I know) I’m not sure how that would work, but maybe you could collaborate with another member to submit a request. Just a suggestion.

Until the investigation is concluded they don't know where it is going to lead. They have said it is possible that someone knows something about his plans. If they start releasing information and there is someone that knows something it could hinder the investigation. IMO

I also thought that was odd. We gamble what I consider a lot, but obv not $100,000 in one hand. We have never paid for a suite in Vegas or AC. We are m-lifers, so when we go to Vegas we stay in MGM properties. We just stayed in a suite at the bellagio in July for free, and we aren’t spending $100,000 a hand (drop a 0 for sure lol), and bellagio is nicer than MB. I do remember reading in the beginning - so I’m not digging up a link for this, take it for what it’s worth - that the suite was booked when he initially checked in, so he took the room next to it and added on the suite when it became available. I do think it’s weird that he paid for the suite, and wonder if it was an ulterior motive to throw MDL under the bus or something since he added her name to the room.

I do remember the suite being booked till the last night. All in all it doesn't matter, but just one of the things that has me questioning reports on how much he was actually gambling since he had to pay for the suite.
I think he added MD for the suite because he needed an excuse to have two bedrooms, but you could be right.

Bingo. Exactly my point again. LE purposely holds back information at times for this exact reason. So this is why IMO people are asking questions instead of just taking the many different narratives that are being thrown out there.
This also means pertinent information such as shooter(s)?, activities, digital footprints etc are potentially being withheld.. My gut tells me that information is being purposely held back from the general public. JMO

Ok so like you agreed with - maybe they are holding back info so people who may have info don’t hinder the investigation. Why do you want them to hinder the investigation by releasing info to satisfy CTs or people who question the government that isn’t their own government?
