I believe he *should have been* found by now, regardless of what happened. If he's alive, he's pulled off the perfect disappearance.

Even that creep Nick Francisco who was found after disappearing, had left clues (large withdrawals, etc).

NF actually had a double life - which was quite easily found by WS'ers.

I think they tried.

"After having exhausted every clue and avenue of help at our disposal, we sadly returned to Bountiful on Christmas Eve, arriving late in the evening because we stopped in Mesquite, Nev., and St. George, to track down other surveillance tapes and examine my son’s apartment together with police — and to talk with news reporters." Rolf Koecher.

IIRC, the security tape at the Mesquite gas station had already been recorded over. We never found out anything about Kmart, Walmart or other St George places that his receipts/bank records showed recent purchases in.

I do think they tried, but I don't think they knew where to look - outside of the neighborhood where his car was found.

Another young man named Dan Heidinger (missing ASU student) age 22 looked a lot like Steven went missing a week ago Wednesday.
Everything was left in his room at the University except the father could not find his passport.

Well, the young man called his father at 7PM (MT) and told his dad he was okay, just "out of the country"

I wonder since Steven's parents could not locate his passport, there may still be hope.

It turned out for this one that the missing passport was one clue that he was still alive.

Fairy - are you talking about the numerous cameras around the LV area?
I do wonder where he was from the time he arrived in LV until near noon on the 13th. And I also think that the video shows Steven.

Some surveillance cameras do show clothing as light, when Orlando police tested surviellance camera where Jennifer Kesse's car was parked their dark blue police uniforms showed up as light.

So while I understand the person's clothes may just be showing up light whatever the colors, the uniformity of whiteness is startling. It might as well be white coveralls.

What did SK wear when washing windows for that business? Jeans or something? Any kind of uniform, jumpsuit, or coveralls? When he went to an engagement, what did he take with him? Lots of equipment, ladders, long handled extendible brushes, lots of different cleaners and such?

I know, I know, Henderson, concept is ridiculous, but still, what did he wear and is there anything he wore that is still in his room, missing, or got everything from some equipment garage the employer kept so had nothing identifiable for that job in his possession?

Did he have a tray he carried to the house when he worked on it?

On another note, I've seen mentioned khakis and a collared shirt seen at some point to be mentioned. I would think no one has any idea what he was wearing because wasn't seen close up for a day or so, but even if the neighbors saw what he was wearing (didn't sound like it, more like car there, car not there type thing), no one recalls seeing him for last 14 hours before he disappeared, no change of clothing in his car.

So I don't know what he was wearing, but the camera sure doesn't make any distinction whatsoever from white coveralls. What good is a surveillance camera if it is not white coveralls?

Absolutely. There may be another camera view that we don't see (although I can't imagine why). It would have been aimed west, right towards the car. Why wouldn't someone with CAM3 and CAM7 have more than two cameras?

Does anyone else see a possible camera aimed west, in your pictures 4 and 5[/B]?

Folks here who have security cameras, may recognize what I'm seeing (I'm more used to traffic and sign-monitoring systems).

If there are other views, or other info, I'd sure like to know it.

Myself, I can just look at what's been made available to us.
if he has cameras in front he would definitely have them in the back since thats where most home invasions would occur - so the question is - -where are the rear camera vids. and who has them and why werent they shown to all as the front facing vids:waitasec:

We know that he signed out a Pete Maravich book, one on Utah history and a DVD Lord of the Rings. Now I wish we knew the dates that he signed out each book/DVD.

Did he sign out one or all of then in December?
It seems like little things are important. The answer to this case will be in the details....(my opinion only).

two books on factual person and events and then a fantasy dvd - he gets inspired by maravich finds something in utah history to re-affirm his inspiration then finds a correlation in the lord of the rings movie. does something in the movie finally send him over the edge from reality into pure fantasy as he envisions himself as one of the characters to justify to himself the state of affairs he has spiraled down to ?

I remember the theory being tossed around about how much battery life could have been left on SK's cell phone but honestly don't remember what the answer was, but I wonder if he had this feature on his family plan and if so did LE use it? The phone had to be on in order for it to work.

What is AT&T FamilyMap?
Answer:
AT&T FamilyMap is a GPS (Global Provisioning System) application that enables you to view the location of a family member's phone on a map, along with the address, surrounding landmarks (like schools or hospitals), and the accuracy of the GPS location. Satellite and interactive street maps are available to view locations. Alerts can also be scheduled. AT&T FamilyMap locates the phone by the SIM in the device. The device must be turned on and within AT&T coverage area in order to be located.

Most AT&T devices are capable of being located via FamilyMap. You will need either a personal computer with an Internet connection or a device with a WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) browser to use the FamilyMap website to locate your family members. You are not required to have a data plan/feature on your account, but it is strongly recommended.

There are two AT&T Family Map offers available:
1.Locate up to 2 lines for $9.99/month
2.Locate up to 5 lines for $14.99/month

Visit the FamilyMap Web site for additional details.
If you are viewing information on devices or services, please note: content reflects instructions for devices and services purchased from AT&T.
Some differences may exist for devices not purchased by AT&T.

The GPS function would need to be turned on in the actual phone I believe. It can also be easily switched off. (I did some reading on victims of domestic violence who were tracked via phone GPS by their abusers and had no idea until someone got them to check their phone and see that the feature had been enabled...)

Not just being gentle with you, RD. There are others who wonder if the person shown in the video is Steven. I am going to defer to the family recognizing him...as much as I love a conspiracy theory, I would think that there would have been evidence of someone else in his car.

When did LE process the car, to determine there was no such evidence?

Interesting. Thank you!

More here (familymap.wireless.att.com) and shows some limitations:
The phone must be on.
It doesn't work inside buildings (will work outside or on a car dashboard).

(more at link)

I do think they tried, but I don't think they knew where to look - outside of the neighborhood where his car was found.

Where, specifically, do you believe they should have looked?

Without the cooperation of LE, how do you "look"? LE won't declare the vehicle a crime scene, they won't fingerprint it, you have to take it to SLC and get a drug dog to sniff it.

Can anyone walk inside an LV casino and say "My son is missing, we don't know where he's been, can we see your security videos?"

I believe the family tried mightily to get attention -- but it wasn't until the last two days of December that this case began to get serious attention.

As I understand it: if you have this feature and want to locate the phone of a family member, you have to go to a computer and use software to contact the phone. (It won't work if the phone's dead, out of range, on another system/roaming, indoors, under trees, etc.)

I've been trying to figure something out, but can't.
Is this "real time" only, or can this pinpoint someone's past location?

Obviously, IF the K family had this AND IF you could track someone's phone's past movements, it might explain why all searches continue to be in the area surrounding SCA.

Or maybe LE/investigators continue to search that area for other reasons.

The Photos on The "Find Steven Facebook " link above, (post 453) by Ruby Red
shows two photos out of the 34 of Strewn trash as though the family may think homeless people lived behind these homes there?

What's with the trash photos?

Is there a reason for them.......?

Scroll down below the pictures.
The man who posted the *three* images, posted explanations of what he saw. Also, during the April 10th search, the site was investigated. See also the news stories on the timeline, related to that search.

Is anyone else having problems getting into his fb group? I keep getting Profile Unavailable.

Hmmm, I wonder if something is up and something has been found??

Edit-I got in with no problem...

It seems to be OK now.

I don't know if it's that page, or FB itself...but over the weekend, I couldn't get into either the BH7th YSA FB page (Steven's church ward), or "Help Us Find Steven".

Maybe they got hit by the spammers again, and had to do some clean-up.

I meant that if he was in Vegas that day, he most likely was filmed by more cameras than the ones we know about. There would be no way to know where. :( I just find it so ironic that of all the surveillance cameras in this city, Steven was picked up by two in a residential neighborhood - where few would even think to look for such a thing.

I know the family did everything they could when they first discovered Steven was missing. Even if it had been more widely publicized locally sooner, it most likely would have been too late to check the videos of the majority of public places.

It seems to me to be logical to conclude that Steven went to Las Vegas, since the day before he was captured by the Video, he said he'd not be able to attend a church function because he'd be in Vegas.

Now, he ends up in Henderson, parks the car there in this neighborhood, yet the following day the Voice mail is check from Las Vegas?

If this is so, it "seems" logical to conclude that he rode with someone else to Las Vegas and he himself checked his voice mail messages that morning.

Still wondering of course just musing here.
