My mother was an artist and all of us kids inherited a bit of her leanings...I've dabbled in some art, including portraiture, informally, and in looking at this guy's facial structure, it does seem to be proportionally quite similar. If you look at his "auburn hair" photo (far left), shave off the beard/mustache and trim his hair a bit, he'd look a lot more like the model. The middle photo (which is on NaMus) looks like dark brown or black hair to me--which doesn't seem to match his written description.

The features are sharper on the dark-haired photo, though, and again, if you remove the shaggy-hair, bearded look and put that golden blonde wig on him, he'd look a very similar if not identical to the model (IMO). He has a narrow face, including temple area, a low forehead, a medium heavy brow line, a long, tapered jawline, the lips come forward a bit, and the chin recedes a bit. His face is long, especially from the eyes to the chin. The nose (as seen clearly in the middle photo) is identical to the model.

On The Charley Project, his height is listed as 6' to 6'2" and his weight has been listed as 150 to 190 (which seems like a broad range to me, but perhaps he had lost a lot of weight prior to disappearance).

Thanks. I think your find is genius! It's sometimes hard to get an exact fix on hair color, because black and white photos may be used and then "colorized". And, if the light is just so, the hair can look much redder.

The proportions on the face and the relationship of features to one another seem very close, as well as the nose shape.

I really think this is the guy: and then the bird in the sun T-shirt? Maybe he has a fetish for bird-in-the sun T shirts? I tried to figure out more about this one, but I can't see the labels: it would be too too much if that graphic was related to the other one.

Also, on one of the blurbs, it said that the family tried to contact him for years; this might mean they thought he had just taken off for some reason and didn't think he was the victim of foul play.

I'll look at the photos more closely.

I believe it's been dyed very shortly before that picture was taken: there are no roots, dye changes the texture like that, and that black is unnatural except unusually in Caucasians. Even the shape of that guy's brows are good for Duenas!

On that black-haired photo, is there a little red above the upper lip?

This is note from sister. Email provided. She says he went missing in 1986. She also said his hair is v. dark brown. Was known to run with Banditos Motorcycle Club.

Me: He might actually be hispanic? As in Dueñas? Though David and Martin are very Caucasian names.

Caucasians with jet black hair usually have very white complexions. The can be Irish, for instance. My father and brother both have that combination, and we are pretty much English in our looks and background. Think Snow White for jet black hair and how light the complexion is. I don't think the black color of Duenas hair is real: good dye job done with the brows and mustache. If Duenas ran with a motorcycle club, the dye job might go with their "look". I guess his sister will know!
 
Duenas' sister posted on ancestry dot com forums looking for her brother in 2000. I messaged her name to mmarty in case it helps.

That was my impression as well--that his hair and brows were dyed black in that one photo, mainly b/c of the eyebrows. Too uniform of a hair color all around.

I am sorry to bring this up if has already been discussed. the dog collar it had no tags? I was wondering if there was no tags if they possibly used a metal detector around this area for the possibility of tags? you could actually get a lot of info from a rabies tag. such as lot,what vet bought it and possibly who the owner is. just a thought.

I have posted the complete updated list. We have 331 submissions of which 109 have not been ruled out. LEO have gone through and ruled out 2/3 of our submissions so far.

We now have links to compare dental or dna, or we have gathered all of the contact info for the ones that need further information, for every name submitted. I would guess that there are about 60 - 70 cases that mmarty or lcsodet will need to contact other LEO agencies for more info.

I did not get all of the new thread posts to the alpha list on the ones that were missing info, but rest assured that LEO has not only the post number but more importantly the contact info.

If sleuthers are able to find more submissions that are not on the list so far, bring them on! If dentals or dna are not available on NaMus, we then need the case number(s), reporting agencies and their contact info, along with the date missing (and date reported missing if available). As always, please provide the link(s) where you found the info.
 
I'm going through the North American Missing Persons database www.nampn.org, 1980s, and have found a few more to add to the list, some better candidates than others. It's not the most user-friendly site (you have to click on each men's name to see details) but there are lots of names there.

If you choose to accept this mission ;) you can check any candidates against the latest alpha list wenwe4 posted above; if name is not on there, go to Namus, enter the name in the search field at the bottom of the page, and see if info comes up about the missing person (sidebar links), including dental/dna availability, case # and agency contact info. Remember:

• Estimated age = 35-50, so birthdate should roughly be between 1942 and 1957 (we do have listings as late as 1961).
• Remains found March 12, 1992 – so “last seen” should be prior to that. *a body can be skeletonized in as little as 4 days, but test results indicate the UID died in 1991(Jan-Nov).
• Height 6’ – 6’3” inches tall with a 32” waist (if clothes found are his) means victim was probably less than 200 lbs (though yes, he could’ve lost weight while missing).
• Hair color: blond, strawb, sandy, or brown
