From a local news stations Facebook page:

"#‎BREAKING‬ A body found in Coeymans Hollow last Thursday has been identified as a woman missing since last December, according to a source close to the investigation."

It's not too terribly close, but is considered to still be part of the Greater Capital Region. I'm here looking for local women who went missing in December as this article states. No ID made public yet.

It is her. Mark her as found deceased. I don't know how to post a link from my phone.

Police identify the body found last week in Coeymans Hollow. Time Warner Cable News reporter Emily DeFeciani has the latest.

COEYMANS, N.Y. -- Police have positively identified the woman as 24-year-old Shelby Countermine. They say she had been missing from Schenectady since December 4, 2014.

Police say her body was found in a shallow grave last Thursday by a medical professional jogging along a private trail.

Sorry perfectingpink, I must have been posting at the same time as you.

From your link:

"Her death is currently being ruled as suspicious, but not a homicide, and while police say finding her body has presented a whole new array of questions -- at least there is now some closure."

Interesting, as, she was found in a shallow grave. Which, I doubt she dug herself. IMO

I found that odd, too.

"Turns out the vehicle he had bought was evidence in a murder investigation from the Albany area. The name Shelby Countermine appears in the search warrant presented to Goetz. She disappeared from Schenectady in December. Her body was found in a shallow grave in May."

Hoping soon there is enough evidence to make an arrest and take the alleged murderer to trial!

There was an arrest made in this case. It is local for me and my boyfriend is friends with the suspect's siblings in Facebook. I don't have a link because I just saw in on my local news. He's also being charged with another murder. It is the same person who was a POI.

A 29-year-old Albany man will be formally charged with two counts of second-degree murder in what is believed to be the deaths of two separate women that happened almost two years apart.

Edward "Ted" Mero is being held in the Albany County Jail Sunday on the murder charges.

Mero was living with the first victim, Megan Cunningham, in January 2013 when Cunningham's body was discovered after a fire broke out in the home they shared on Arcadia Avenue in Albany, according to accounts of the incident in 2013 published in the Times Union.

Documents allege incriminating statements in Schenectady woman's slaying

"I don't think I killed her," Mero allegedly told investigators, according to prosecution filings in the murder case now lodged against him.

"I don't think I did anything. I don't know what else you want me to say. I don't think I did anything wrong to her, I just kicked her out."

Mero, 29, is facing a dual murder trial scheduled to begin with jury selection Wednesday in Albany County Court. Prosecutors say he killed Countermine, 23, and hid her body on Water Department land in Coeymans. A jogger found her remains in May 2015.

He is also accused in the Jan. 27, 2013, death of Megan Cunningham, his roommate at 12 Arcadia Ave. in Albany. Cunningham's death was originally ruled accidental.

Four jurors were sat on Wednesday. Opening statements are set to begin Monday afternoon. Mero has been in Albany County Jail since he was arrested and charged in February.
