I've never seen this happen in Cincinnati. Every tv source is devoting a special section to the trial of Liz Carroll in the death of Marcus Fiesel.

Channel 5 is blogging it.

Local 12 Discussion topic Can the Carroll's get a fair trial in Clermont Co?

Jury selection process halted due to weather.
There was a hearing, on whether the two reporters who interviewed the Carroll's for Sun. and Mon.'s articles must turn their notes over to the prosectors. The judge ruled they do have to. The two reporters may now be witnesses for the trial.

The articles in question

Baker says she's no killer 'I don't want people thinking I'm some kind of monster'

One child's death, two stories
Star witness blames foster parents, but they insist she's the real killer

And an article explaining the players in the trial.
Key figures in Liz Carroll's trial

She doesn't seem to have any regrets about Marcus. I'm glad the jury did their job.

I'm glad she'll be punished for this. I can't get over what they did to this little boy. :furious: She'll have it easier in prison than Marcus had in that closet all tied up.

Not only should they have known he could die, but they certainly had to know that even if he survived that being left bound like that in a blanket in a closet for 2 days is tantamount to the worst kind of torture I can think of. Physical pain, fear, seclusion, darkness, hunger, muscle cramps, no one to change his diaper when he soiled himself....it had to be terrifying beyond all measure... they at least knew he would experience those things for what would seem like an endless amount of time to a child causing emotional and mental harm and that he would most likely suffer some measure of physical harm from lack of food, water, and just from being bound that way. To me that is almost worse than death to leave him to suffer like that. People know better than to do this even to a pet much less a toddler. Why is this crime not a life sentence or DP crime? It certainly should be.
Thanks Maybe So, this is exactly what I was thinking! You said it so much better than I could have.

In the sentencing hearing the prosecutor told info that would have been brought out is she took the stand. A witness to her selling Xanax. A neighbor who considered calling CPS due to non supervision of the children at the home. And the fact that Amy Baker was not the only woman who had moved into the home and had an affair with David.
Local media is pointing something out.
Amy Baker has stated that after Marcus died that she and David took him to the chimney and burned him. Then took him to the Ohio River and dumped the remains off a bridge. Ohio authorities have given her immunity.
Ky authorities have not given her immunity. Technically the Ohio River and it's bridges are a part of Ky.

When she gets out she will be to old to hurt another child. In reality, she will die in prison. I don't think that she deserves anything better than that.

She should be ashamed for all of the whinning and sniveling she did at the sentencing. Of course she isn't guilty...they never are.

Does anyone know if the girlfriend was charged with anything. I know that she took LE to little Marcus's body but that shouldn't mean she gets away without any charges at all. She was there....involved???? But she could have saved that baby's life if she had made one phone call.

I fully expect the husband to get an even stiffer sentence...bless his black heart. He will probably whine just as loud.

Truer words I have never heard.God bless Mr. Cash he was a terrific songwriter. Let's hope his words ring true for these cruel child killers.
Beautiful lyrics. I too wish they ring true.

Unbelievable.

"David Carroll also was charged with gross abuse of a corpse"

Not to sound morbid or anything. But what was that about?

She got 54 years :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
I hope it is very hard for her. At least she will be fed, clothed and if sick cared for, this is more than she and her cohorts did for poor Marcus. What a sad sack waste of space this person is...

Lavonne, he took Marcus' body to a disused chimney and set fire to it. Only small remnants were found. :(
