I am doing a research project locating or identifying possible victims of a killer often called a "butcher" and whose victims were often "dismembered", "mutilated" and similarly mistreated. I am interested in the area of Oklahoma, New Mexico, Texas, Missouri and Illinois.
Come features include the following:
Come features include the following:
- headless
- torso
- handless
- attempt to amputate at least one foot
- carving words in abdomen
- shallow grave or dumped from a bridge or along a country road accessible to a major roadway
I have found a possible seven such crimes in the time period of about 1941 through about 1960. They are often women, but there are some men also, and a host of missing young women who fit a particular "type". In addition a lot of skeletons found that appear to show dismemberment but little else to go on.
The killer may have worked as a butcher, based on medical comments, circumstantial evidence, or in an animal industry where some knowledge of dismembering a body was easily seen.
