The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office has activated Search and Rescue (SAR) to assist Hermiston Police Department with the search for a missing Hermiston man, 37-year-old Daniel S. Lincoln.

Lincoln was reported missing on August 20th and was last seen driving a 2010 black Jeep with Oregon plates 509GQN. Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office was requested to assist on August 21st when a ping on his cell phone showed a location southwest of Ukiah, Oregon near Soap Hill Rd and Bridge Rd.

This morning a fixed wind plane was called in to assist with the search effort. Members of the SAR team along with Umatilla County Deputies continue the search on the ground as well.

Today two CAP aircraft were committed to the search as well as two ground Search and Rescue teams directed by Umatilla County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue coordinator Sgt Dwight Johnson. Wife of missing Hermiston man speaks out

The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office has been searching for Daniel S. Lincoln, 37 for the last five days.

His wife Adrienne Lincoln says on Wednesday night she and Daniel did get into an argument prior to him leaving.

She tells Action News she needs her husband home and her kids need their father.

Adrienne is begging authorities and the community to find her husband.

She's asked Action News to put out a direct message to Daniel asking if he sees this report to come home, no questions asked.

Search for Missing Hermiston Man Suspended

UKIAH, Ore. - The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office has suspended the search for Daniel S. Lincoln, the missing 37-year-old man from Hermiston, Oregon.

Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office has suspended the search for the missing 37-year-old man from Hermiston, Oregon, Daniel S. Lincoln. Lincoln was last seen at his home in Hermiston on August 19th and was reported missing by family members on August 20th. On August 21st, the Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office became involved in the search when a ping from Lincoln’s cell phone showed a location southwest of Ukiah, Oregon near Soap Hill Rd and Bridge Creek Rd. Hermiston Police Department contacted Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office and a search was initiated starting at USFS Road 52 near milepost 2 in the Ukiah area. The search included, two ground teams from the Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue, Sheriff’s Office personnel, United States Forest Service personnel from the North Fork of the John Day Ranger District, Forest Service Law Enforcement personnel and friends and family of Daniel. Civil Air Patrol flight operations (coordinated out of the office in Salem, Oregon) were also conducted including one fixed wing aircraft on the 23rd and two aircraft on the 24th. In addition, today, a volunteer from Heppner, Linda Nave, flew her personally owned aircraft over the same search areas and located nothing. There was a report of a possible sighting of Daniel passing through the North Fork John Day Campground in Grant County on Thursday, August 20th. No other reports of possible sightings have been received since then. Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office search and rescue reported a total of 86 searcher operation hours (not including planes) and 1,354 total miles driven.

Information has been passed on to our neighboring counties. The search will remain suspended unless, or until, new information requiring action is received.

Lincoln is described as a white male with red hair, blue eyes, and is 6-foot-1, 230 pounds. He was reported last seen wearing a dark green baseball cap with a subdued American flag, a dark-colored T-shirt, blue jean shorts and brown Romeo shoes with a worn-down sole. He was reportedly driving a black 2010 Jeep G Cherokee SUV with an Oregon license plate of 509GQN and a heart on the back window.

According to an Aug. 24 press release, Lincoln may have also been armed with a revolver.

From that website: Daniel served in the Untied States Marines. Daniel has PTSD and needs help. Please let him know he is not in any trouble. That we love him and have support set up to get him anything he needs.

Daniel's wife, Adrienne Lincoln tells Action News she thinks he may be hiding and she wants people to keep an eye out for him over the holiday weekend.

"Mostly look in spots that aren't typically traveled because I feel like he could be hiding somewhere and he is trained to hide a vehicle because he is military, so he knows how to cover up a vehicle and I feel like that's why we haven't been able to find him," explained Lincoln.
