Ellen McCullum Drake was last seen in 1967. She may have been in Portland, OR at the time, but also has ties to Missouri.

Her full name is Ellen Louise McCollum Drake ( see http://oregonmissing.blogspot.co.uk/search/label/Multnomah County ). Oddly this site says that the last record of her was 22 May 1970, but gives no more detail. It also has her DoB as 4 November 1949, making her 20 when she went missing. I would tend to take this information over NaMus as it is local and so specific. Unusually I can find no other info, even on Ancestry.

There is speculation that she could be Josephine County, OR's "Annie" Doe, found in August 1971. Link to "Annie's" thread: http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showthread.php?40944-OR-Cave-Junction-Annie-Doe-WhtFem-UP10929-16-20-Redwood-Hwy-Aug-71. Annie's thread is quite long; Ellen's name comes into the picture first on page 26, where a poster, Ellen's Niece, asks for assistance trying to find her long missing Aunt. More information comes out on page 29 and Ellen begins to look more and more like a good potential candidate for this UID.

Her name came into the picture before that - in May 2013, Deca brought her name up. She located Ellen McCollum's name on an obscure site for Oregon missing persons.

Ellen's Niece was first tipped off to the possible connection when she googled her aunt's name and found the discussion that followed this post.

Page 14 then with almost no info, then the others. 29 is where it really starts to come out.

Here are two photos of Ellen:

The B&W photo is of her when she was about 16. The wedding photo is more recent. Ellen's hair was naturally red, but she very frequently changed her hair color. She has it dyed black in the B&W photo.

Annie Doe 3.jpgAnnie Doe CarlK recon.jpg NCMEC's and Carl K's recons of Annie Doe. Her hair is described as being long and red/auburn with dyed blonde streaks at the time of her death.

Annie Doe is not Ellen. She would not have been traveling to California as Annie Doe's description suggests. She had a son in July 1968 and According to Ellens father Dick, Ellen had a rocky marriage with her husband and when her son Jesse Drake was around a year old she moved from Missouri to Oregon. A year or so later in summer 1970 her husband made a trip to Oregon and returned to Missouri with their son (who still lives there). She was never seen again. She took no clothes or makeup or her purse. According to family members she never went anywhere without her purse and makeup. Family suspects the husband.

She left her husband, moved to Oregon, husband travels there and returns alone with the kid? I can see why they're suspicious of him

Did the LE investigate the case? It is not mentioned how the found her apartment after the disappearance, only that she left everything behind... I suppose that a deep examination of her apartment would have found more evidences: any sign of struggle, something missing (a blanket, a carpet...)?
Did her neighbours see or hear something strange? How did her husband behave after her disappearance? Did he have any criminal records? Was he familiar with the area of Oregon where Ellen lived? Did he travel there by car? Did LE examine his vehicle?

Edit: Maybe this was her husband: Bud Drake Ellen Mccullum - Ancestry.com

Bumping, Ellen’s birthday passed recently. She has been missing for 56 years this year.
