I wonder why her DLC is listed as 1983 when she was talked to in 1984/1985. Really thought she could have been a Jane Doe I was looking into but the phone call excludes her.

Doesn't sound like her mother was that concerned, if she can't recall what year it was when she last spoke to Jeanne. We don't know the nature of that conversation.

Perhaps she relocated and assumed an alias?

I wonder if it's possible the phone call was in November 1983? If so, I think she could be Jane Doe B-17. The only things that don't match are the phone call details and the DNA phenotyping info.

I just don't know what to make of the contact with Jeanne's mother. I feel it may not be genuine or certain though, as I feel they would put it as her DLC if they were sure.

Thank you for keeping my sister’s memory alive. I just learned about this website from a Netflix movie “Into the Fire The Lost Daughter.”
The last time I saw my sister (Jeanne) was in 1982 or 1983. I was a kid. She was a troubled youth and had run away from home by then and was living on the streets. She very occasionally would call to ask for money. I tried calling the San Diego police in 1988 when I had joined the Navy. The laughed at me. I’m sure they were happy that there was one less druggie in the world.
We may never know what happened to her. I wish I did know so I could give my mother closure. My father died about 5 years ago.
I had many dreams about her in the early 90s. She assured me in each dream that she was happy and doing well and told me not to worry about her. I woke up crying after each dream and believe she contacted me from the other side. I know in my heart that she is gone. Just don’t know the exact when and how.
I’m going to find out how I can donate my DNA to Codis to see if that might help with any Jane Does. I do have a 23andMe account, so maybe that will make it a little easier.
