WPXI in Pittsburgh recently posted that her dog was found at Beatty crossroads late.one evening and stated she went everywhere with the god. Google maps puts that as several miles due West of her apartment complex. For the dog to have gotten there from home it would have had to cross a busy highway in addition to navigating around the airport perimeter (which is likely fenced)

In late September, Cassandra posted on a Facebook group page, "Across Westmoreland", that her purse was stolen from her vehicle and she was looking for the man who was using her credit card. Maybe I watch too many shows on ID, but I wonder if he could have something to do with her disappearance? As of now, it doesn't say if he was caught.

Latrobe is in Southwestern PA, about 35 miles east of Pittsburgh. Her apartment complex is about 3 miles east of where her dog was found...I'm from the area. It would be tough for her little dog to get that far along Route 30. Its a busy highway.

I live in Somerset County, very close to the Westmoreland County line. The collapse was miles from her residence. My guess would be that she disappeared from the area close to where her dog was found, which is nowhere near the collapse. But that is just my opinion...

Thank you, mzufall. I wasn’t sure how close to the collapse her dog was found. I lived in Allegheny Co for awhile but have since moved up north. Pittsburgh is still considered to be my local news station & that is how I heard about Cassandra. MOO

The disappearance of Cassandra Gross is still considered to be a missing person case, as state police do not have enough information to suspect a criminal act, Trooper Stephen Limani said Wednesday.

"My daughter is dead. Something horrible happened," Kathie Gross said. She added, "Just one person knows: the person who did it."

Cassandra Gross, 51, lives by herself at Edgewater Village in Latrobe. Kathie Gross said she last talked to her daughter by phone around 3:30 p.m. Saturday.
