The family of the Portugese woman who went missing after attending Notting Hill Carnival fear she may have been kidnapped.

Patricia Araujo, 26, travelled from Ashford, Kent - where she moved to six years ago from Aveiro in northern Portugal - to London last weekend to attend the event and has not been seen since.

She last contacted her family just before midday on Sunday, telling her cousin that she was at the carnival 'having fun' and would return home that night.

Patricia's family have since travelled to London to look for her and have said that her disappearance is 'very out of character' and urged her to get in touch.

Her aunt, Claudia Sousa, 42, told KentOnline: 'So many days have passed by that we’re thinking about if she has been kidnapped.

'So many bad things happen at the carnival.'

She has now been located at Surrey County Hospital in Guildford, according to Patricia Araujo’s aunt Claudia Sousa. She said: "We have just been told Patricia has been located and she is in hospital.
