I did not realize that about a Witness. I thought they could get up and give a statement unchallenged? Meaning the Prosecutor then would not be getting up to cross examine? That is so "trial" like? I thought this phase was statements only?

I'm still floored that Jodi's sister sported the ridiculous "survivor" shirt today in Court. Unbelievable.

See what happens when sometimes we have moments of feeling sorry/sympathy for family members...and then they do cr*@ like that, that throws our sense of compassion out the ol' window. How disrespectful to the true victim's family. It's a joke.

Ppppffffttttt. Just like reading comments from her aunt, the one who laughs in court. It erased any sense of sympathy that I had previously had for her. It's one thing to be small town, maybe naive in the ways of court proceedings and respect for the process, I get that. But once I read her FB comments about a week ago (which we can't link here, but I know several of you saw), nope, they were disgusting and hurtful towards Travis' family.

Ah, okay, that makes sense. I didn't think that the mitigation witnesses would be cross-examined directly. I though JM would point out any fallacies after they were off the stand.

So, today was about DT getting it on record that they simply do not approve/have any unimpeachable mitigation witnesses. They would all just hurt JA's case.

Hey, that's what I would think since defense has already told us that her family does not support her.

I think Jodi will get up tomorrow and ask for the death penalty.
That way she has instant appeals. And the state will have to
pay for legal team...a new one. But she will be in the

The defense team just doesn't seem to have been prepared for a guilty verdict of first degree murder. Either that or Jodi is messing everything up behind the scenes. I find it curious that they are asking to withdraw but Jodi is not asking to represent herself.

Jodi is running the show ... always has been and always will be running the show ...

I think the defense team definitely knew it was a strong probability that she could get a 1st Degree Murder Verdict ...

But NOT Jodi ... in her "warped mind" she really thought that jury was going to buy into her b . . . s . . . NOT !

I think it was Jodi who has resorted to these "last minute tactics" because she really did NOT believe she would ever get 1st degree -- she probably thought she'd get 2nd or manslaughter ... NOT !

She is absolutely delusional ...

The jurors have got to be sick of the DT causing all these delays and they know it is the DT. Wouldn't it have been much better to just tell them that witness had to withdraw, put DB up and let JA have her art exhibit?

Nurmi seemed to indicate that the DT would have no witnesses for mitigation, so I don't expect DB to make a statement. We'll hear from JA tomorrow.

I have yet to hear a good explanation by the Judge or anyone else as to why they didn't continue today...

What are the duties of the mitigation specialist? Doesn't she get to speak after sitting there for four months?

Beach's notice is exactly why it's important to not get SO EMOTIONAL that dishes, plates, glassware, people, reputations and whatnot get thrown in exasperation. If it's too painful to watch a trial (any trial, but particularly this trial), step away. This trial is not unusual. Those of us who have seen a lot of trials have seen lots and lots of defense games (and a few by prosecution teams as well).

TA's family has already gotten justice. A 1st degree murder conviction *is* justice. The rest is just gravy.

That's right. Anybody who read about, or followed, the Manson trial knows that that trial lasted over 9 months. With many, MANY delay tactics by Manson and his gang. One of which was that (IIRC) one of his attorneys actually disappeared - body found many many years later. Talk about a trial stopper.

Only Jodi wants to speak for Jodi! Not a complete surprise yet somewhat entirely appropriate that it all boils down this. Also by allocating she can't be cross examined. Jodi's manipulation continues...

I did think, though, that Juan could cross examine and object to mitigation witnesses. Does that only pertain to other witnesses, not the killer?

It was all bullchit - the judge offered to have the witnesses testimony done in a sealed proceeding...but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

She is a fool grasping at straws- at this point she just wants it to be on her terms.

She will make the determination when SHE speaks.

SHE will make the determination who else speaks on her behalf.

SHE will decide that she wants the death penalty- NOT the jury.

She will kill herself- I am certain, if she is given the death penalty.

It is all on her terms, in her own deluded mind.

Juan must have had something to impeach Daryl with. I have no doubt that Daryl's interview with Juan went similar to PW... just with differing evidence that caused him or the DT to decide his testifying was not a good idea for JA. MOO of course.

The judge was like he court can only "SPECULATE" as to why Ms. PW is not testifying. She also said the court can only "SPECULATE" as to why no other witnesses are being called. :floorlaugh::floorlaugh: Nurmi did NOT like the Judge's choice of words.

According to Nurmi this has been a witch trial since day one, now an anonymous lynch mob is threatening their witnesses, so none will dare show up to vouch for Jodi.... consequently he can't represent her adequately and he and JW would like to quit and go home. Denied.
When JM got up to speak it turns out that the main witness today, Womack, would not even answer his questions when he tried to interview her last week.
She is on sticky ground with her record of drug use, not declaring income from photographs she sold, and her life could not bear scrutiny. She wasn't willing to talk. Now Nurmi says none of that was the reason, she received death threats and ALV was also so intimidated she won't testify either. We don't know what happened to Daryl Brewer...

My guess is that the DT told the judge that "We expected for you to rule in our favor, so our client wasn't prepared to give her statement today...yadayadabullshat...so, we need the afternoon to counsel with our client to see what she wants to do...yadayadamorebullshat, etc."

So, JSS caved. I kind of feel for her though...this morning was a real Bozo Shat Storm. She looked really pizzed. JMO

JA's days of pulling stunts are ticking by....soon she will be in a tiny little cell with no one to manipulate and no games to play. She is going to play this final hand for all it's worth. I also think that part of her welcomes death because she thinks she can pursue Travis in the afterlife. She is all powerful and all knowing, dontchaknow.... I think her level of psychopathy or sociopathy runs that deep.... I honestly do. There is a seething resolve on her face at times. She isn't done with Travis....she believes this will go on for all eternity.... She's got herself covered no matter the sentence. JA takes care of JA, no matter the circumstances.
