The suspicious object that caused Interstate 75 and Daniels Parkway to be shut for more than an hour Monday was not an explosive pipe bomb but rather a wad of paper shaped like a foot-long penis.
It was a wad of paper artistically shaped to resemble a male organ, said Lee County Sheriffs Chief Charles Ferrante. It was not detected until the suspicious package was removed.
The device was first described by the sheriffs office as a prosthetic penis. However, the sheriff's office later said it was paper made to look like penis.
