random thought---let's not forget the odd JB quote from his driveway--something to the effect of "well, I've lived a good life" when asked about SG or being responsible

I imagine it meant he lived his life to the full, enjoying the good things available. A party guy.

Need not look for sinister undertones in every statement.

That's an odd statement, no matter how you look at it, imo. It's the context. You're asked about a prostitute who ran screaming from your house, never to be seen again, and your comment is, "I've had a good life." ?! If the words alone weren't strange enough, he chose to use the past tense.

Sorry, but in my eyes, that's VERY odd. Does it mean he's guilty of something? Of course not. Does it mean he's an odd duck? You betcha.

(IMO, of course)

Hi. You are not going to find any information about this anywhere because it is nothing more than another rumor created to add suspense to this case (and suspicion about JB). It shouldn't even be allowed to be a part of this discussion because it only distorts the truth.

Bumping this post, concerning the landlord/tenet missing rumor @ JB.
I'll see what else I can find. I would like to know if there is truth behind the rumor. Haven't found any here. Maybe one of our super sleuths can revisit this and find something that is considered reliable info. TIA

This is an unfounded rumor that has consistantly been reported by one person who posts on several forums. I spent a good bit of time googling this as did other people and remember it was discovered the address of this "girlfriend" did not even exist. Amazing how one person can start a false rumor and it never dies regardless of how many times it is disproven. If anyone is interested enough I suggest they spend a little time on google and they will discover what I discovered: that the rumor is false.

Bumping this post because this rumor just came up in another thread It appears to be just that...a RUMOR.

Has anyone read the book Lost Girls yet? I need to get it. Sounds like a good read about this case. But I just read an interview with the author who wrote the book. He had this to say about JB
"Why she ran for her life. And he’s kind of laughing about it. Because he’s trying to play the tough guy. He won’t even admit he was a john. Won’t admit they had sex. And he very quickly blamed Shannan’s family for her becoming an escort. He comes off not so great in my opinion in the book."

Makes me wonder about him even more.

Me too. I've always thought he is very suspicious. I am by no means certain, but if I absolutely had to pick one of the publicly-discussed POIs right this minute, I'd pick Brewer. I think the LISK is someone a lot like him.

Then again, I try to put my preconceived notions to the side as much as possible because they can keep you from seeing patterns.

I couldn't agree more. Think that's why I find this case so interesting. Just when I think someone is super sketchy, I realize how sketchy each and every one of them are.

JB and SG left the house in his vehicle but did not leave the community of OB.
We don't know where or which house in OB they went to.

Did he tell the police where they went? Did the police interview this person? Doubt it.

Has Brewer had any legals troubles since he met SG? Any run ins with other women? Any complaints against him by other women? The nature of the complaints if any?

As far as I know, the sole source for the story about the supposed trip was Michael Pak. So it's like this:
- Pak said SG, from the house, called him about wanting to get lube (or playing cards, or something). Pak declined to make the trip.
- Pak says JB and SG took off in JBs car, for points unknown, and returned about 15 minutes later.
- The nearest drug store is West Islip's CVS. If you did about 80 mph in both directions, and spent less than 60 seconds in the drug store, you'd still have a hard time doing that trip in 15 minutes.
- It was late at night on a weekend, with a 46-year-old cocaine-using john hosting a cocaine-using escort. It's likely the trip, if it happened, was to secure some cocaine from someone in the neighborhood.
- It would make sense that the police would ask JB about the trip. Nothing that JB told the police has been released to the public.

"....nothing that JB told the police has been released to the public..''

Other than the fact that JB is not a POI. They got that out pretty fast. I think the cops wanted to take the spotlight off of Brewer as fast as they could in the hope some newspapers would go snooping around. Maybe they should have locked him up and put a couple of million dollar bail on him and salt him away where no one could find him.

Does anyone know where he is now?

Shannan Gilbert's Estate has the legal right to sue
Brewer and Pak for wrongful death.

In 2000, the U.S. Congress passed the Trafficking Victims Protection Act, and later passed the Trafficking Victims Reauthorization Act of 2003, which provided for a civil remedy in Federal court for victims against their traffickers.

Many other types of civil actions – including civil RICO claims – might lie for this conduct as well. These sorts of remedies are rarely pursued in these sad situations, however, as the pimps/traffickers typically do not have enough money to make a lawsuit worthwhile for the plaintiffs, and almost certainly never have enough money to truly make their victims whole, from a tort standpoint.

I'm almost 100% certain that JR is taking a "side" door approach to deposing Michael Pak AND Brewer.

*advertiser censored** his money and stick him in jail if he had any part of this.

i believe the statute of limitations to sue someone for wrongful death
is 12 months...from when you get the dead body.

megan - dead - dec. 11 or 13, 2010
shannan - dead - dec. 13, 2011

shannan's estate sued hackett nov. 15, 2012.

lorraine missed the one year deadline to sue akeem cruz. she never got a lawyer. she had the law on her side...and the right to sue akeem for wrongful death....but...rut row..... never got a lawyer.

Bumping this thread...

I'm wondering if anyone has discovered a link between JB and Manorville? Did he ever travel through the area to get to work, visit the park as a kid, etc.? Anything that might suggest he knew the area well enough to feel comfortable dumping bodies there? What about Fire Island?

It seems that many people have done this sort of digging about the doc, but I haven't been able to find anything like this about the john...

I think it's because the doctor had someone from Oak Beach that didn't like him and wanted everyone to dislike him. Makes me wanna question that person on their motives. I've always felt that the doctor was set up.

But Manorville is only about 40 miles from Oak Beach. There wouldn't really have to be a link other then it was close by and a dump spot.

There are so many questions I have about him that I want to know. I'd love to find out more.

I think it's funny. Everyone over looks the John because LE said they cleared him. Yet everyone is screaming that LE is covering up for someone or not looking in the most obvious places.

I'd like to believe that the police really did investigate him and continue to keep an eye on him. It seems to me that police rarely admit when a suspect is truly a suspect. Maybe it lulls a suspect into a false sense of security? Seems a little silly to me but, hey, what do I know?

Regarding Manorville, I would think that the killer would have to have some tie to the area in order to feel comfortable dumping there. Not that I would ever do such a thing but, if I did, I certainly would make sure that I knew the place well. (Wow, that sounds so creepy. Don't judge me, people!)

And, yeah, I agree... so much info about the doctor and hardly anything on the john! It doesn't make sense.

lol You sure are sounding like you know how to hide a body!!! jk :)

See I guess I was just thinking from the view that if I were to get into the car and drive any direction from my house for 40 miles I would know that area. So I guess I just kind of assume that JB would know that area.

And your right about LE giving false security. I've often wondered if that is what they are doing.
