if you were at this vigil - it was not at the entrance to Oak Beach

http://www.newsday.com/long-island/vigil-for-gilgo-beach-victims-1.3387365

Thank you! I was so confused. I was like "I know what I saw, and I know what this girl is showing me, and it doesn't add up."
I was unaware of that and thank you for informing me. That back gate is kind of shady then..... If it's not the main access one... who's to say Pak didn't leave through that gate!!!!!!!!!!!!???????????? And now that you say that, I find it odd that during the vigil, the DR made a point to come in the back entrance and parade himself passed all of the news reporters and the family.... How come hw wouldn't avoid the public thrashing he would receive by going through the front gate unless he just needed to get a fix.... Dis.Gust.Ting.

If PAK is telling the truth about her saying "they are trying to kill me" then he must also be telling the truth when he says SG acted this way many other times at other people's homes flipping out for no apparent reason, right?

Assuming for the moment that he is telling the truth, why would he want to be the driver for someone who behaved that way? Unless they were friends, in which case he would have more insight and sympathy for her medical condition.

Also, Pak did state in his A&E interview that he tested SG's clarity in the house by asking her if she had ever seen "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" and that when she answered yes he knew she had some wits about her. So, even though he said she was acting strangely, OTOH, he claims that she was not completely divorced from reality.

What a strange way to see if someone is connected to reality -- ask them if they've seen a trippy movie where the main character is paranoid, fearing for his life, and hallucinating half the time.

That movie is about a wild time in Las Vegas. It undoubtedly has prostitutes in it somewhere. It's been a while since I've seen it, but I wonder if any of them are in danger.

Lil Miss and MrsPC-Thanks for the gate pictures. So the vigil was at a 2nd manual gate? Interesting...So is this gate on Oak Beach Road just north of The Fairway? I see on the google maps that it feeds onto the Ocean Parkway on the left:

It looks to me as though Pak would have to leave via the "front" gate in order drive west to go through the 2nd one. Correct me if I'm wrong since you were there. This may explain why the DR. drove past the vigil, he had no option...I noticed that during MG's speech from the video of the vigil that she mentioned Shannon's 911 call:

"Shannan was a strong woman, when her phone went dead
she wasn't screaming, she fell into the water to help me I'm
drowning because she couldn't swim."

I was a little puzzled by her phrase "fell into the water to help me"
probably was just a train of thought miscue. IIRC she was told by LE what was on the tape of the call or did she actually hear it for herself? So I'm guessing that this was her theory as to what happened to Shannon?

TS actually brought to our attention that if you go back and look at the Newsday article where this LEO claims she pulled this behavior alot, it never mentions Michael Pak. He just says "I interviewed somoene who used to drive her...". So, its not even proven to be Pak, if anyone, who actually said that. The source is not named.

Thanks for cluing me in on that. I had the impression MP had specifically said it on one of the documentaries, but I haven't had a chance to watch any of them except the Dark Minds one, so I could be way off-base.

I am unsure of tur way the road goes over there....but what I can tell u is that the gate I mentioned is on the side of the Oak Beach parking lot. I do not know if u HAVE to go that way....but I do know maybe the Dr came in that way BC his house is more local to the rear enterance than the front one. If i was him I'd still avoid though! Or at least try.
I do remember when we did balloons though....a friend and i were holding balloons....maybe 5 or 6 of them. One of the balloons freed itself and floated away. And i said jokingly I'll"it looks like shannan wants one!" .....BC the balloon floated to where shannans body was....and stayed there. Amazing.

In my opinion, MP told that story since it would have been rather awkward to say "Your neighbor was partying with a prostitute who got away from him and I am trying to get her back for him." I find MP to be a very nefarious character with zero credibility. All of his comments are self-serving.

In SG's world partying may refer to using cocaine. Escorts who usually work until sunrise are usually classified as "partiers" and will often trade sex for drugs. To my knowledge an escort will stay all night with certain clients if the drug supply is non-stop and will not be super-strict with the time which might explain why Brewer stated she stayed 3 hours but was paid for 2. So she had sex with Brewer and possibly the drifter for 2 hours and did drugs for 1 hour?

Since MP usually earned a third of SG's total earnings I'm not sure if he was paid with money or with drugs and if it was with drugs it could lead to two scenarios.

1)He wouldn't accept it as a form of payment and he had issue with SG for cutting a deal for drugs rather than for cash

2)He simply welcomed it and took part in the party

My take is that it is the first scenario as SG was running from him fearing for her life because she messed up and cost him his pay.

Because he was getting paid to do it and that was how he earned his living.

Yes, that is really odd--"Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas"? Any other movie BUT that would've been a better choice, given the circumstances...They say life is stranger than fiction...

I am sitting here getting frustrated, I think I have some inkling how LE feels.

More bodies turn up, we do not even know how they are related if they are, we are not even sure how many killers are involved. We do not know much at all. All we have is hunches and opinions and 'gut feelings'.

We sleuths are at a disadvantage, we do not know what LE knows, we rely on MSM for much of our info, which can be inaccurate, incomplete or filtered.

Let us for a moment assume that somebody knows who the killer(s) is/are. Somebody knows something that will be crucial to solving the case. They are afraid to come forward, primarily from fear of the killer's revenge or being wrong and ridiculed by LE and the media.

When the US was in Iraq looking for 'the bad guys' they put up rewards of $100,000.00 to $1,000,000.00 to get tips and leads on the people they were looking for.

Is there a reward offered for the SG death?
How about the other bodies?

I am sure LE has already spent a million dollars on the SG case so far no arrest. I think a reward like that would really get people talking, really excited about the case.

It is amazing what a million dollars can do to refresh one's memory. I would think that for a million the driver or the john or the doctor or their friends or spouses might be a little more forthcoming.

What do you think, should Suffolk County put up a big reward to show they are committed to solving these crimes?

RSBM.

I absolutely think they should offer a reward. It worked for the Whitey Bulger case (eventually). It would be an excellent incentive for the very people who might have important info about this case but may not be coming forward because they have nothing to gain and potentially everything to lose. By which I mean people involved in sex work or the criminal underworld, etc.

Suffolk County needs to start pulling out all the stops, pronto. We're approaching the killer's active season again and if someone else dies as a result of their Keanu Reeves-like approach to this case ("whoa"), it's partly on their heads now.

MOO.

I thought it was comedic. Back in the late 80's it was cool to be a Gonzo groupie. It was heralded as the "best book on the dope decade" by the New York Times Book Review, Hunter S. Thompson's documented drug orgy through Las Vegas. The movie they made in '98 was said to be a black comedy which stared Johnny Depp.

I think the book concentrates on DRUGS. I'll never forget the part where H Thompson is out in a boat and drops his DRUGS overboard and how he tried to fish it out. LOL That might have been in another of his books. It was 'naughty comedy', as I call it, but funny enough you couldn't help but laugh. Just sayin' MOO

I think the LISK case and Shannan's murder are rooted in drug usage - mostly cocaine as I've read here. IMO

Just a rehash of what we all know, except it has a picture of Michael Pak.

MP seems to have disappeared, other than rumors that he has gone to Georgia, there is nothing we know about his current status.

Since the SG case is an ongoing investigation, does LE know how to get in touch with him if they wanted to?

Has MP gone 'underground' to avoid scrutiny or surveillance? It is curious that of all the POI's he is the only one who appears to have voluntarily changed his place of residence.

Is he in touch with SG's family, SG's boyfriend or anybody involved with the case?

Remember MP was the last person to see SG alive.

Does anybody know anything about what MP is doing now? If the answer is no, then he becomes an even more interesting POI.

MOO

Just to clarify, to make sure I have all the facts straight, was MP the last person to see SG alive?

The doctor claims he never saw her and I've never read anything where LE said he did.

I was just about to add that to my post....the Dr. Says he never saw her.

I just did a search and the first couple of pages of listings from google mention Brewer, Coletti and Pak as "one of the last people to see her alive". Nothing new there.

Hi WINDSOR, Two things I saw that might be different:

* JB also changed his place of residence, moving back to the neighborhood of his liquor store, and I think living with his mother - or a relative?

* We don't know if MP really was the last person to see Shannan. CPH told Mari that she had spent the night at his house and left in the morning. IMO believe he told Mari that as he did call her 2x.
