All these dead bodies found on Long Island and the killer is still roaming free. The former chief of police overseeing the investigation is now in prison. And how much was his salary... and his pension?? The police can't decide on how many killers, the police can't decide on Shannan's demeanor while calling 911, and they can't decide if she was a victim of LISK. No wait... I believe they argued that she IS a victim of LISK when pressed to release her 911 call recording.
Even the worst reporters don't have to do much more than state these facts to have very sensational news.
Yes, R. Kolker did cover the sorry story of their childhoods. It is incredibly sad.
These were human beings with a shytty childhood (except Melissa Barthelemy who's mom was super young - 16 I think)
so you had a child raising a child, and that in itself has tremendous challenges and stressors.
The other girls were abandoned and neglected and tossed about either in foster care or just alone and left to raise themselves.
Society judges them and doesn't help them rise up and get an education and without that, you're screwed. They all
come from families that are not college educated, but struggling with poverty issues and their parents might have a H.S.
diploma or a G.E.D.
Yes, People magazine show stated Burke had a prostitution ring being operated out of his home.
Prostituting women is a crime, and he was organized; so is that organized crime? That could very well
be a reason Burke refused to let the FBI in on this case. But as of today, he has not been charged with prositition.
Where are the women to come forward to talk to the FBI that were prostituted in Burke's prostitution ring??
Is the FBI even looking into it?
Feds forced the hand of a couple of the cops that Burke had power over. One of them was even quoted in the
paper saying if Burke knew that he was talking to Feds, he could be killed, or he alluded to being scared
for his life.
THAT is a powerful quote. Does Burke kill people?
Because Shannan was scared for her life that night.

re: the 911 call - One side says that Shannan was calm cool and collect while being on the phone and the other side says she was hysterical and screaming for her life.
The fact that she called 911 is that she was calling for HELP. That is what 911 is for.
This case is going no where until someone in the know talks. If Burke is a killer, as alleged by the LE witness who was scared to talk to Feds for
fear of his life ending, then no one will talk. Judge Wexler put Burke in prison while awaiting sentencing stating
he was a menace to society. You have 80 letters from sheeple who were ready, willing and able to bow and scrape
the ground under Burke's smelly feet.
I never knew until Burke's sentencing when he waltzed into court with his swagger like a movie star, all the while smirking at Chris Loeb
while Mr. Loeb read his statement. It was not until seeing Burke in all his bravado, all the while in prison garb, to see how very powerful Burke really is. It made me want to read the case.
Why didn't John Ray look into the camera and ask the public if they have any information of Burke and his prostitution
ring, to call him? Why isn't he on News12 Long Island stating that very question?

I have friends in the media on this case and I've been told by them that they are told by their bosses what to print,
what to say and what they are not allowed to say.
So who are their bosses? Well the people that own the media publication that these people work for.
