Jury Note to Judge:

Ex. 855 pg. 9
Item #20g #21g #12g
Is there any more information/evidence regarding these collected items?

Stipulated Response from Court:

The jurors have been provided with all the exhibits received in evidence.

Thanks, tvscum! Good to 'see' you!

Do the jury even know the underwear was in the guesthouse I wonder. Or if it was female underwear.

Interesting that they have computers in evidence. I didn’t follow closely enough-did they ever say she had any browsing history of suicide, hanging, or staging murder scenes? How to tie knots around your wrists?

No, they didn't.

I’d hope all of the information collected for/on each article of evidence is in the exhibits?

These are 45 items in the search warrant-- but, do we know if that numbering system is the same one used for the evidence in court? The numbering system as items were introduced into evidence could be entirely different than the search warrant, perhaps?

#12, 20, and 21 (asked about by jury) may be different items than in the search warrant.

It could be, but interesting that it tallies with what the OP had heard.

Please stop with the "suiciders" OK?

If Websleuths did not have different opinions we would not exist.

Please be respectful of all sides.

Thank you,

On the Dr. Phil program, Bremner questioned why underwear found inside a bedroom at the mansion guest house was never tested for DNA.

Jonah Shacknai's brother, Adam Shacknai, had stayed in the guest house overnight and called 911 in the morning to report he had found Zahau hanging.
"They didn't look at a pair of woman's underwear in a garbage can in the guest house," said Bremner. "The underwear was not analyzed."
Sheriff Gore said it was not necessary to test the underwear, based on his department's investigation and statements made by Jonah Shacknai.
"In the case of the underwear, it was determined through investigators that Jonah Shacknai's daughter, Gabby, and her girlfriends had stayed in the guest house up to a week before," Gore said. "It did not appear to be relevant to our investigation and not everything we seize in a crime scene is eventually submitted for forensic examination."
Grubb, the crime lab director, also was questioned about the underwear during the news conference.
"The underwear was collected but was not examined because of Jonah Shacknai's statement and the fact that we had better evidence as to whether Rebecca Zahau was sexually assaulted or not; and that was her body – and swabs recovered from her body – which showed no sexual assault," responded Grubb.

Portions of Dan Webb’s closing argument, April 3, 2018.
Underwhelming, IMO.

As important as whether or not she was sexually assaulted would be "why would her underwear be in the guest house trash can in the first place."

Did they? Have a link? Thanks.

The phone ping thing is part of their official report, is it not? And obviously they had the footage from the hospital if it was available to the plaintiff and defense in this case.

And if they *didn't* have the footage from the hospital it certainly casts further doubt on the whole investigation, doesn't it? That they would believe without doubt a person's whereabouts based only on phone pings?

Adam's DNA wasn't found at the scene of the death in the house. If you have evidence that he was there, please provide it. The Plaintiff failed to provide it at trial. Thanks.

Oh, was it determined exactly where she died?

Ya'll are clearly not up on SDSO's use of high-tech lingo. It was her "cell phone triangulation" that confirmed for them where she was, IIRC. It's a fancy name for pings, but sounds better? I remember thinking, "Okay, so they know where her phone was ... ".

Not an accusation, simply an observation and another question mark wrt the investigation.

Yes, picture posted downstream<<<

Adam would have been a lot more believable if he had “played” a self assured Captain.

“I’ve got an unresponsive woman; apparent neck injury. She was hanging.
CPR? She is dead –cold and stiff.
Her hands are bound but there is no pulse in the neck or on the temple.
I removed a gag and there is no breath”

But no he staged a show instead.

And finally got to make use that Literature degree in what will be his most famous published work.

Showing his love for theatrics and prose, that one

All imo

The one line that basically says if all "Got a girl, hung herself...in the guesthouse"

#12, 20, and 21 (asked about by jury) may be different items than in the search warrant.

Confirming good advice by K_Z not to assume the Trial Evidence Exhibit Nos. correspond with SDSD Search Warrant collection.

The trial transcripts/minutes posted in Overview thread offer a glimpse of numbering, and unlike the Search Warrant where all was collected together and numbered, Trial Evidence is introduced and argued over one piece at a time.

Thanks cynic for these court videos!

And Thanks Tricia for your interviews with Greer!

Greer is fa man. Thanks agree for your steadfast persistence in Zahau case. I did notice your suits got loose... sleep well tonight. Verdict may be in tomorrow!

Almost all jurors believe Adam is murderer.
