Is there a good deal of stormwater runoff in this area?

Flat land. IF it rains then it floods until it drains off.

Texas has been in a severe drought until just recently. Fire burned over 1 million acres in 2011 and was about as bad in 2010 from what I remember.

I do not live in Texas but I have lots of family in W. Texas and have visited there most of my life. DH and I have many business interests in W. Texas. Two of my children are in college in Texas.

This area has been in a drought for a couple of years, but just recently has gotten some much needed rain. The picture of the trees are mesquite trees. They are very drought resistant and are native trees of this area.

I wonder if the rain has washed away what has been partially buried?

Also, the tanks look like they could be oil storage tanks. They are certainly large enough to store oil. WSI is a perforating company. It is possible the two companies could work on the same oil rig. The perforating company would supply the equipment (piping and such) to get to the oil and the tanks would come last to store the oil. Definately in the same field of work....JMO

Hope this helps some. As someone said earlier....there are no wooded areas in this part of Texas. Very dry, flat terrain, lots of wind and very little rain.

Thanks just wondering how the remains were exposed. I don't have a sense of whether the remains are all intact (whole skeleton) or just some parts?

I heard about this on FB and ran to WS to find out what was going on. :-/

~jmo but if it was reported the "hand" was small like a child, then animals didn't scavenge the small bones of the hand. (which is VERY odd) I am wondering (if it is her) if he didn't try and burn the body first, to no avail.
BUT then the fingers/hands might be gone too...

However here is a story about two men killed in fires whose bodies were mummified. One discovered 8 months later and one over a year later...

Hope they haven't flown the coop.

I'm not sure why my post was removed earlier...I only meant if BD and SA arent communicating with her attorney or anyone in media that maybe theyve harmed themselves or each other.

Sorry if I offended anyone

Investigators determined the remains are human but cannot determine identity or gender due to extensive deterioration. The scene has been secured and an FBI evidence recovery team from Dallas will process it and recover the remains Wednesday. Detective Sergeant Tony Everett reported it appears the body has been in this location for a long period of time.

I want to talk to someone from Desert Tanks. I want to know how often those tanks
are serviced. I want to know if they think it is possible the body has been there over a year with no one noticing.

There would have been buzzards at first...is the place that secluded that no one saw huge birds circling?

My husband and son both work for a company on Apron Dr. That's really creepy to think that human remains were there right near where they work.

I was just telling my son about the news and he said he believes the area in the news where the tanks are is an area he calls "the compost" where people used to take trash to be burned. In fact, he was just there today. He came and got my husbands pickup to move some things and went out there to get rid of it but it was fenced off and he couldn't get in. He hadn't been there in a while and didn't know that it was fenced now.

That helped answer a question for me! I was wondering if it was completely fenced in, how long the fence had been there, who has access, etc. Does he remember when he was there last when it wasn't fenced?

When was the last time your Son see it fence-less? TIA

Is that near where the big arson fire was too?

Just got home from a 15 hour shift, don't know how long I can stay with the thread tonight, but wanted to say you all ROCK ! Just the first three threads or so and I was up to speed, thank you !

I will say some prayers tonight, someone somewhere is fixing to have closure on a missing loved one, and finally lay them to rest where they belong and it won't be easy ... :rose:

:please:Oh, please, please, please don't let any evidence be compromised! Those bones have been out in the weather for a long time...better to just stand back and wait for the FBI evidence team!

I know. I cringed when I read that!

Would you say that the Desert Tanks property is pretty secluded? What else is around there?

My son said he doesn't know when the last time he was there was but that it's been a while, last year some time.

I haven't been out there in months. There's the business my husband and son work for, the airstrip, the prison, some abandoned buildings, the old tower for the airport. It's not a busy place. There isn't a lot of traffic.

I feel tempted to ditch work tomorrow and take a drive over to Big Spring. It's silly I know. We'll probably have the news on here just as soon as the ID is made anyway.

I guess I just don't want her to be taken out of there alone; ya know? Im sure there will be friends, family and searchers there. Does that make me a rubber-neck?
