Ok, your post made me break down and sign up for BK blog. WOW!!!! Completely worth it. She includes soooo much more detail than tweeters.

Anyway, where are CH comments you refer to? Don't see them there. Tx!

Videos are found under "BK Live"

I have read the comments from the 13th Juror and agree that Nurmi lost the jury but still don't think CMJA will get the DP. Like someone above said, Juan needs 12 & the murderess needs one. But... Juan hasn't yet had his opportunity to drive home just how vicious and depraved a murder this was. She killed him 3 times over. I would be so satisfied with tactile DP verdict, but have my doubts. Can't predict the outcome but think usually people are given the DP for killing for monetary gain, killing LE or children. And Nurmi seems to be going with the "snapped" defense, & unfortunately this jury won't have seen all the evidence in the first trial. JMO.

Would anyone happen to know why my "thanks" button only works on about every other post? It just started today. Not that I need to thank every post, but some I do. :dunno:

Weird, mine does that sometimes but I have no idea why. Wish I could help. :dunno:

I wonder if CMJA's PI was the person responsible for handling the HD? Do we know for sure said person was a forensics expert at all?

I was wondering the same thing. I can't believe any outside person would be allowed to have possession of the computer, yet if the prosecutor turned it over to the DT and it was in their hands, could they then give it to whomever they wanted ? Expert or not ?

Thank you is not enough because I have tried all day to figure out how so many intelligent people could go off so quickly on a difference of opinion. I have absolutely no doubt that CMJA is the creature who murdered Travis but when someone suggested he thought it may have been two people I mistakenly replied with my thoughts on that. Now I know I'm not the sharpest pencil in the cup but I don't appreciate anyone scolding me for my opinion or thinking I may be a troll. Sorry for the rant and thanks again angelrae. back to lurking.

Years of emotional investment? Years of frustration, anger, disbelief, you name it... from putting up with what this case has served up. It's beyond ridiculous at this point in time. Jodi murdered Travis in 2008.

I had been gone from WS for a few years and came back a couple of months ago. I have been playing catch up with this case for only a few months (Am up to day 37 of the trial videos). Travis' family breaks my heart, every time the camera pans across their faces. This needed to be over a long !*&#@(! time ago!!!! Add to that all the current monkey-wrenching shenanigans by the defense team, which is more fuel on the fire. You stepped right in it, I'd say. :poke: It happens... shake it off.

I lost my 18yo son in 2006. After listening to Dr. Samuels? this week, the defense's psyblah blah guy, I am pretty certain that I am still feeling the effects of PTSD. His testimony brought a lot of things home for me personally. Getting there... Anyways, while I'm pretty certain I still don't have the emotional range that all these fabulous dedicated WSers have, I can certainly sympathize with what is pouring out of their hearts, and off of these pages, its pretty intense! Boom!

Yes, for weeks my "thanks" button has not been working correctly. :(

Last night I watched JM's closing again. Just WOW. I had forgotten. He dotted EVERY i, and crossed EVERY t. A thing of beauty, it fully restored my faith in his abilities and method. He missed nothing. It was worth watching again.

Today I am going to watch the defense's closing.

Oh, and not a fan of Sky, she seems to smile so inappropriately...

It is time. She needs to be sentenced and taken away to Perryville. Life or death, I don't really care that much. The more she further abuses the victim and his family though the more I hope she gets death.

Premeditation doesn't have to be several days (as it was in this case) it can be formed almost instantly. But this girl staged a burglary, stole a gun, rented a car, dyed her hair, bought/borrowed gas cans, turned off her cell phone and headed to Mesa.

What stood out to me the most of all the premeditation was the rental car. When she went to pick it up, it was red. She asked for something other than red because red is too noticeable. This tells me that she did not want to risk anyone seeing a car in the area at the critical time that did not belong there. And that tells me that Travis did not know she was coming to see him--she would not have risked him possibly mentioning it to anyone. I do believe he may have known she was planning a visit at some point, just not that night, so when she showed up he was surprised but not totally so. Anyway...that deal about the soon-to-be-torture-murderer needing to swap the red car for a white car was huge for me.

Just imagine what the jury is feeling at the moment. We are totally bored with the DT and especially this Dr, but we can walk away and do something else. They are stuck listening to this. I think Nurmi damages the defence with this stretched out defence practice.

The aspect of her crime I find most weird is how she actually had sex with him, knowing she was going to kill him. So creepy.

Oh yes, that was just diabolical. I think she did that to get him in a place where his guard would be down. How many guys think, as they are seducing or being seduced, that they need to be on the lookout for a murder weapon? Even if he knew she did not play by any rules--and I believe he had her number by then--I do not think it entered his mind that he was in danger. His first glimpse of danger was in the shower and by then it was too late.

At this point, I would actually prefer she get LWOP, though she clearly deserves the DP. This is because of all the political shenanigans around the DP, and the real possibility of things from the trial that wouldn't normally be reversed getting reversed just because she's on DR. There are some players in the game that will reverse just to score a strike against the DP. LWOP will be no cake walk for her in spite of her sociopathy. The characters she meets won't be as easy to manipulate, nor as predictable and/or civilized about their reactions to it.

Tomorrow is going to be hell for them. I think Nurmi is going to spend another full day with that witness.

LWOP.. Hmm. It might have it's benefits. Especially if they're not going to allow the vain killer to color her hair.

Everyone wants to bet on how much he'll say "three hole wonder"?

I always figured that was her last shot at getting him to take her to Cancun instead of Mimi. When that didn't work, she switched to Plan B.

I think it's entirely possible, but the longer Nurmi plays this broken record the more receptive and grateful the jury will be when Juan stands up for his smackdown.

Yes, she also didn't want any roommates or neighbors to recognize her car so she rents a non-descript car that doesn't stand out to LE and a neighbor is less likely to recall seeing close to the house the day of the murder

For me the nail in the pre-med coffin was the gas cans. I can just picture her filling them up in CA, ready to go kill a person. Then she fills them back up in Nevada...proving she did use the gas after the killing

I wonder how common it is for anyone who plans to travel in that area to have a gas can or two along. I would bet not very...but things are done differently there than here in the upper midwest.

She wanted him to die 'hers'. He was her possession, but he had outlived his usefulness. Twisted and evil.

And don't forget stopping at Starbucks for a frap, giving the skateboarding plate-flippers time to mess with her car.

There's one great bit of irony here. She got the two cans from DB but figured they were not going to be enough, so she bought the third one at WalMart. Thank God the state tracked down that purchase and wiped out her phony return story. The defense had nothing to counter that - nothing that was remotely believable anyway. Had she not bought that third gas can it would have been more difficult to tie this out.
