That's a good idea, never thought about it that way, like child endangerment?
 
the other girls were born in like 88 or 89, from what I read on the police report. So, in 2009, they were 18 or older!
 
I would have thought if drugs were involved or BD was going to get drugs for her friends she would have said something to her boyfriend about it. The shorts story does sound odd but I think there was a lot of teenage pettiness going on.

Looks like the others girls were 20 and 21? I was wondering because most of the hotels in Myrtle Beach do not rent rooms to those under 18. There are all kinds of ways to get around the rules, but basically you have to be 18 and at many hotels 21, or have a chaperone over 21 to get a room.
 
I wouldn't look much into the shorts thing. I'm a 22 yr old female, and I am all about my clothes haha! There have been plenty of times friends have taken my clothes purposefully or accidently and I always expect them back, especially if its an item I really like that I have intentions to wear. Just girls being girls.

The drug thing could always be possible, but I believe the shorts thing bc these girls were already beeing mean towards her, she probably just wanted to avoid any additional conflict. Does anyone know for sure the shorts did not belong to brittanee? If her bf or mom said that they know she shorts as some she wears frequently, that could really change the situation. Trust me, my husband knows my clothes, esp my shorts, skirts and yogapants, he's a butt man.

I'm still stuck on wanting to know what bd carried in her purse though. I still feel like her personal belongings are floating around somewhere such as a camera, electronics.. I also still want to know what type of phone she had since smartphones back up to your google account & any pics and videos she took for the trip could tell a lot.

Also, would the perp have crossed the traffic cam taking her, or would they have gone another way? I'm wondering if any vehicle that passed thru between certain times could be traced to a poi.

Another subject here, but has anyone noticed there is now a girl on fb with the name brittanee drexel? She has no info and only one photo, taken in the mirror with a pink phone with a playboy bunny charm on it. In my opinion she doesn't really favor britt.. maybe the coloring but that would be all.
 
@anbeaudre- I saw that facebook profile, and I don't think it looks anything like her :/ As for her phone, I believe I read in one of these police reports that it was a "pink flip phone", and I think I remember reading AT&T was the provider? I could be wrong though!

& AL would have been 20, and JO would have been 21 at the time I believe. Bar harbour motel requires someone 21 and older to have the room in their name. The Boardwalk hotel that they moved to doesn't, however. I recall while we were there on vacation that their sign said "students welcome!". I just looked on their website- whoever reserves the room must be 18+ and pay a $100 safety deposit at check in. A lot of these resorts that require 21 and up to reserve will bend the rules during certain times of the year, like Spring Break. Some of the lower priced hotels that may require 21 to reserve may allow an 18 year old to go ahead and book the room, but may require a safety deposit fee. Now, the really nice resorts would most likely change the typical 21 & up rule to 25 years old+ to reserve, for the simple fact of they don't want a bunch of teenagers being irresponsible and ruining their rooms or disturbing other guests.
I was looking at the police reports- It gives room numbers and all, but it doesn't tell who actually reserved the room.

Yeah, I really believe the shorts story. Girls that age can be brutal. And yeah, I believe she would have walked all that way back to return them just to avoid conflict. On the traffic camera, you can hardly spot Brittanee because the quality is awful, so I think being able to pinpoint a POI would probably be extremely hard to do, if not impossible. I mean, I'm sure that you may be able to see a certain car/truck, maybe one that matches whatever one of the POI's drive.. and you may be able to identify it as the same color or model, but you can't see a tag number or anything, so you're back to square one.

I do wonder if there were any other cameras around? I know that LE has probably already explored that possibility and searched around everywhere to find anymore traffic cameras to spot more footage of her. I know that since her disappearance, Myrtle Beach has put up a TON of more traffic cameras with better quality and what not to try and prevent anything like this happening again in that area.

I would guess the Perp probably avoided Ocean Boulevard and traveled on a side street such as Yaupon Drive to avoid traffic and traffic lights. Probably traveled south to 17th Avenue South or 19th Avenue South and turned onto Highway 17. Perp probably used side streets to Stop and Go as often as possible rather than being stuck at a traffic light. If BD was walking down west side of street (and I think she probably was) he could have grabbed her and basically made a U-turn to Yaupon Drive and avoided traffic and someone seeing the act or his vehicle. Perp knows his way around Myrtle Beach.

Thank you for sharing the police reports. I am glad SC allows those reports to be public. It really concerns me to know that the girls that Brittanee went to MB with changed hotels the day after she went missing. What kind of friends would do that? How did they expect Brittanee to find them. Also, looking at the ages of the men and girls involved is very disturbing. They were all 20-25? Brittanee was just 17!
 
I've never posted here. I just finished watching the 'Disappeared' episode. Not that it matters, but I do believe the shorts story. I have a teenage girl and believe me, she fixates on wanting what she wants. If Brittanee was already on the outs and miserable being there, I can believe that a sensitive girl would walk back and give the shorts to someone so that there would not be conflict.

I think on the walk back, someone pulled up that she had met on the trip, they offered her a ride, and it was a trap from there on out.

I'm not up on the details of this case. Someone please tell me they used metal detectors in that swamp to look for her cellphone.

Exactly!! PB would have been 20, the youngest of his group that was there with him. PB's friends said they met her for the first time with PB at club Kryptonite on Friday night. I'm just wondering why a bunch of 20+ year old guys were interested in hanging out with a girl who is 17, when there were probably thousands of girls there that were their own age. I can understand them offering her to just hang out with them for the remainder of the trip due to the fact she was fighting with the other girls, but they could have at least drove her back to the hotel to return the shorts. Even if she declined the opportunity, they should have done the responsible thing and did it anyway.

I've heard that the girls switched hotels because LE asked them to, but it doesn't clearly state that in those police reports I just posted. From what I've read, it seems as though Dawn/JH made the inital call to report Brittanee missing. JH waited at BH hotel until reporting officers show up. When the officers come, JH explains that he had already contacted the girls Brittanee traveled with (AL & JO) and said they hadn't heard from her since 8PM. Officers go to room #305 at the BH hotel and announce themselves as LE and attempt to gain entry inside. They have to ask an employee from the hotel to open the door. Upon gaining entry, they can see Brittanee's belongings are still there. (They don't mention if anyone elses things are still there or not). LE then calls AL via a phone number JH provides to them, the girls say they haven't seen/heard from BD since 8pm. In the police report time stamped as 4:51 AM 4/26/09, it states the girls switched to Boardwalk hotel (doesn't state they were asked/forced to move per LE).

I think that the theory of it being someone she knew/met while she was there is credible. Maybe she met someone while she was at club Kryptonite on Friday, and they just happened to be driving around that spot on Saturday night and saw her, offered her a ride or something and really did something else to her. That, or someone like RM got her.
I'm not sure if this has already been posted or not, but I was just reading a blog online- In the comments section of this entry, someone was able to post a conversation going on on Facebook that involved Dawn, Brittanee's friend TF and supposedly an ex boyfriend of Brittanee's. The ex boyfriend is suggesting that the people she traveled with know a lot more than what they're saying, and that all their secrets are about to come out.. he says the he's about to blow the lid off the secrets and "justice will be served to him by me". It's pretty recent, from April of this year..

Definitely a lot of drama surrounding this group from Rochester that was with BD at Myrtle Beach. If someone has info to break this case wide open I guess I don't understand what they are waiting for since it has been 3 years. I wonder what started the rift between BD and her companions? As Christina691 pointed out they went to a club one night and I have seen the photos of her with her companions at the club. It is my understanding BD was taking anti-depressants and maybe her companions egged her on to drink that night? Mixing alcohol and anti-depressants is not a good thing and maybe BD got upset with them for that?
 
They may have been jealous of her if the guys were paying her more attention.BD went to the boys hotel. That
may have set off some jealousy within that group. That could be the real reason they called her back for the shorts. IMHO

That is very interesting. BD being just 17 would not be able to buy alcohol. So who in the group was 21? They would be purchasing. Providing alcohol to minors is taken very seriously inSC. Not only is that a crime in SC but also the club could possibly lose their liscense and large fines.

PB's friends would have been 21 at that time, as you can read in the police report, they say they ran into her at the club on Friday night, so it's possible they could have bought her drinks. JO (girl complaining about shorts) was also 21, she could have bought Brittanee drinks if they weren't fighting yet at that point during the trip. Or, who knows, it could have been some random guy, or guys, she came across in the club that thought she was pretty & tried to buy her a drink.

I've never seen any of the pictures from her at the club, do you still have them @Farmhand?? & I was reading back in past threads on here from this case & I saw a lot of talk about a picture of someone climbing into an attic, and you can see a white flip flop in the picture (like Brittanee was wearing), does anyone know where to find this picture also??

& Maybe Brittanee wasn't taking her meds? I know a lot of girls that age that are on anti depressants and they'll just quit taking them because it makes them feel so awful and crazy. (I work at a psychiatrist's office, by the way).

LE will probably give anyone some leniency if they would come forward with information. Decent people find it impossible to keep quiet when something like this goes down. Anyone from that group that knows something must come forward and do the right thing, to give this family closure and to help LE find out who is responsible. It is the right thing to do. If anyone has information they should go to LE now.

Anyway, the reason I write tonight, is because after ALL this reading and speculation, I can't remember seeing it anywhere and thought I would bring it up. My theory on Brittanee's visit to the Boys' hotel that night, was that she was going to pick up drugs. For either her or her girlfriends, or maybe even someone else she had met while in MB. That would explain her in/out appearance, for which the other girls/boys could have easily made up a story about returning shorts, which IMO sounds silly to begin with. I know darn well that a bunch of teenage girls had other clothes to wear and that would not have been an emergency "come back here and bring me my "shorts" situation"... period.

I believe that is why the boys high tailed it out of there in the middle of the night, they thought she would be found dead or OD'd and that they would be implicated for involvement in it because they sold her the drugs. That is why the boy lawyered up, he expected her to be found and his name to come up.

Maybe she was picking them up for somebody from the club etc, and that didn't turn out well....or maybe she was assaulted on her way back with them, and the drugs came into play and things got ugly. hard to say. but no matter what, that is what my gut feeling keeps giving me about her visit to that hotel that night and the rush back out of there along with the rapid departure of the potential "dealers"....

In a world full of billions of people, places, and things, a person or their belongings being found, is truly a needle in a haystack. unless somebody is careless or somebody's conscience gets the best of them!! Let's all hope one or the other happens very soon. This poor kiddo needs justice.

Welcome and thanks for your very insightful post. I too believe that the girls and the boys on that trip know exactly what happened to her. I also have always believed that drugs were involved.

I remember very well the photo of Brittanee up in the attic opening and would really like to know if it was taken in Myrtle Beach. I've often wondered if her body may have been hidden up in the attic space in one of the abandoned buildings.
 
If they know where Brittanee's cell phone went, can't they subpoena records of their top people of interest to see if they left town and it matches up? I'm pretty sure you don't have receive a call to get a ping off a cell tower. Cells ping towers all the time. And I'm also sure they didn't call every friend they knew and say "Don't text me for the next few hours. I'll be up to no good."

Or get the reports of every cell phone that pinged that remote tower that night and go from there.
