It's her opinion. It's mine and others have expressed it as well. Many people in fear do not go to their parents OR the police. Example, people don't report abuse or rapes everyday because they won't be believed, it is hard to prove, difficult to prosecute and the victim often is often tried to be shown in a bad light. So, victims either stay quiet and endure the abuse, fear or run. With HE, we know she had an ex that could have the potential to be violent and she never told her dad that OR mentioned him to her dad. She never told her dad she was dated another guy who was married. This guy who now is back with his wife and she says is leaving wife for her. That could be dangerous. She mentioned going to the hospital and having $4,000 in bills and falling down the stairs on at least two occasions that I remember. https://mobile.twitter.com/HeatherElvis maybe the bills and falls were injuries from "danger."

She was going to start a new job and things were going well for her, nothing at all indicates that she wanted to run away. I also can't believe she would do that to her family.

Why would she have gone and picked up her mail from her parent's house the day of her date? Why would she have taken her phone with her when the phone could ping her location? What if she let LE know she is safe. How involved are they in this investigation? I am not in SC. So, I only here rumors, which I don't listen to. Could they know and just be tagging along to things. Or have they actually spearheaded anything on their own?

LE would not cover up the fact if they knew she was safe. They would not want searchers out there, maybe seeking the reward, getting injured, lost or trespassing. Just not possible.

5:00 - 6:00pm: After receiving information on registration officer visits T.E. and learns H.E. is primary driver of the vehicle. T.E. calls H.E.'s DATE to find out more information for the officer. I just wanted to bring this over here for the discussion. Here are so many links that pertain to validating our timeline. Some of the older links have "updated" versions of the story now - which is making things a little difficult. The updated versions are now missing some of the info. I know someone (Salem I think) mentioned Terry's timeline in his first xojane article - but I can only find the Jan. 17th one now. I'm almost positive the first time I read a crime feed article it was multiple pages and now the only two I can find are one page. I also remember seeing a video at one point that answered a few of my questions about the neighbor who reported seeing the car at the landing and family members of hers (Neighbors) saying she thought is was there since Monday and later realized she was mistaken about the day. Also the JVM transcript in media threads is actually pretty informative. Check out the media pages threads there are so many links. I also went to our local news website wmbf.com and searched for all videos on HE and there are 5 pages of them.

Work with me, please. How would a 20 year old think she would be safer out on her own, without the support of most of her friends and family? If she uses her real name, someone will eventually put missing Heather Elvis together with Heather Elvis in *new location*. If she uses a different name and she ever wanted to work legally, she would need a new birth certificate, or have to buy a new to her SS number and ID from somewhere (scary to think she would know people dealing in those, but it could happen, I suppose).

I'm trying to figure out how it could make MORE sense to think she wandered off on her own (as opposed to foul play), abandoned her mode of transportation (which makes sense she would have to do to cut ties), changed phone plans or destroyed her phone (which makes sense she would have to do to cut ties), leave all or at least most of her belongings behind (which she wouldn't have to do, so why would you?), leaving no evidence of any plans to leave that her family has pursued in the media, when there is nothing that shows she had any reason to do so.

Unfortunately my gut from the start has said she's not... ya know. But my gut also said it was the ex. Because my gut didn't know about om. So I'm just saying I could see it happening. Heck people have questioned their actions recently anyways despite the fact they all come across as tore up everytime they talk.

At any rate. IMO I fear the worst. But am hoping she's alive.

Thank you. That is another reason I suspect foul play. Heather did not show up at Christmas when she knew she most likely had (at the very least) a new computer. If something happened on the 18th that was scary enough for HE to run away (as an alternative theory) BEFORE Christmas, that same scary thing is reason to suspect foul play BY whatever the scary thing was.

She could have been gone by 2:30 and talking to OM from the car. I didn't see anything showing she was there. Only that her phone was used.

Police investigating disappearance of Socastee woman

Horry County police are searching for Heather Elvis, 20, of Socastee after she was reported missing Thursday night by her father, according to Lt. Robert Kegler with Horry County police.

Kegler said Elvis was last seen at her parents house on Tuesday night and the last time her cell phone pinged was Wednesday morning at 3 a.m.

It just pains me at how little detail, there is given. No weight, height, possible last clothing, tattoos, piercings, car, specific locations for witnesses, etc. I was thinking of Leanne Bearden and these two cases COULD be two woman who both walked away on their own or one could be or none could be. Details like that are always important. Little details like that bother me.
