The search for a missing woman in Union County, South Carolina, expanded across the state Wednesday as it entered its third day.

The Union County Sheriff's Office said Lisa Johnson, 61, was last seen late Sunday night in the Carlisle area of Union County.

They said Johnson was last seen walking away from a home.

Carlisle has a population of just over 300 people.
 


The Union County Sheriff's Office shared this update Thursday afternoon in the search for Johnson:

"The Union County Sheriff’s Office along with SLED are still actively searching for Ms. Johnson. Recent tips have come into the Sheriff’s Office which has led to expanding the search into other counties due to possible sightings of Ms. Johnson. Law Enforcement are trying to locate and utilizing camera systems in those areas to confirm the sightings of her. We encourage the citizens to still be on the lookout for Ms. Johnson and be a good witness to law enforcement responding and report these sightings in a timely manner to help law enforcement locate Ms. Johnson. The smallest detail can help aid in the search. If you believe you have seen Johnson, please call your local 911 or Crime Stoppers at 1-888-Crime-SC."
 
Still missing. A woman named Lisa Johnson from NC was found, and it has been circulating on social media that Lisa Johnson of Union County, SC was found. The Union County SC Sheriff's Office issued an urgent press release to inform the public that they are still searching for Lisa Johnson of Union County.


Deputies in South Carolina on Monday sent out an urgent message about a woman reported missing last month: Social media posts are false.

"This information is INCORRECT," deputies said in a release they requested to get out to the public "ASAP!!!!"

"The NCIC hit was a different Lisa Johnson with some of same identifying marks," deputies said in the release. "The Union County Sheriff’s Office and SLED are still actively searching for Ms. Johnson."
