Friday, October 4th:
*Motion Hearing (@ am ET) – SC – Matthew Autry (29) & Shawn David Anderson (35) (July 27, 2018, Socestee; shot, stabbed & burned in car) – Only for *Michael Wixted Faile (37) arrested (7/29/18), charged (7/30/18) & indicted (11/14/18) with 2 counts of murder & 1 count of possession of drugs. Held without bond, which was denied on 7/29/18.
Had Prelim hearing 10/12. 9/18/18 moved from General Session to Central Jury Court. Had hearing on 10/12. 11/13/18: Bond reduction hearing – denied by Judge. 12/9/18: Court site says “Order/Form 4”. Nothing new since 11/14/18.
4/29/19 Update: Motion for Speedy Trial hearing. 8/15/19 Update: Motions hearing on 9/6/19. 9/6/19: Motions hearing on 10/4.
*Zachary Kane Stell – last hearing 5/14/19.

Double murder suspect charged with robbing Myrtle Beach restaurant

February 24, 2020

A man police charged in connection to a double murder in Socastee in 2018 is accused of robbing a restaurant Friday in Myrtle Beach while free on bond.

Cook faces charges including armed robbery, four counts of kidnapping and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

Police also charged Cook with arson, trafficking heroin and possession of other controlled substance in schedule I-V in relation to that case. He was released from jail last year after bond was set at $125,000.

Zachary Stell is charged with two counts of murder and one count of arson. Michael Faile is charged with two counts of murder. William Tatum is charged with two counts of murder, one count of arson, one count of trafficking heroin and one count of possession of other controlled substance in schedule I-V. The four suspects' cases are all pending.

Online court records show police arrested Cook and charged him with receiving stolen goods valued at $2,000 or less and driving without a license on Feb. 11. He had been released after being given personal recognizance bonds.

Bond denied again for suspect charged with murdering two men, burning their bodies in Socastee

CONWAY, S.C. (WMBF) – A request for bond was denied yet again for one of the suspects accused of murdering two men in July 2018 and then setting their bodies on fire in a vehicle that was found in the Socastee area.

Zachary Stell is facing two counts of murder, first-degree arson, driving under suspension, giving false information to law enforcement, using a license plate on a vehicle other than the vehicle for which the plate was issued, possession of drug paraphernalia, operating an uninsured vehicle, and improper taillights, according to online records from the J. Reuben Long Detention Center.

Stell appeared with attorney, Brad Richardson, for Friday [3/6/20] morning’s hearing.

Richardson said the defense was not asking that Stell simply be released from prison on bond, but released to home detention. The defendant’s trial is set to begin the week of June 15, the attorney noted during the hearing.

The judge denied bond for Stell, marking the third time since his arrest.

Cook allegedly came into the restaurant through the back door with a bag concealing his right hand, stating that he had a gun and demanded money, according to arrest warrants.

He was charged with four counts of kidnapping, armed robbery and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. Cook was booked into the J. Reuben Long Detention Center on Feb. 23 and remains incarcerated as of Friday morning under no bond.

Tatum and Faile also remain in jail.
 
@PeterThomasFan - I see that you started this thread - and was wondering if you can access the SC court system for Horry County. I can no longer access it. If you look at my post #88 - it gives all the people that I'm looking for - except for Stell.

Sorry I am watching but didn't think of liking the post to show that I was. Thank you for all the info. I used to live a 4 mile drive from this crime scene. It is crazy how this area has nosedived in the last 25/30 years.....

Horry County’s trial roster is often set months in advance, and Richardson said his office recently met with Horry County’s Administrative Judge Steven John to develop a new schedule. Prosecutors moved up some trials where the defendants can’t make bail and delayed some previously scheduled trials.

The case of four men accused of murdering Matthew Autry and Shawn Anderson was initially set for July, but now has been delayed, Autry’s mother, Tracy Baker, said.

In July 2018, Horry County police found Autry and Shawn Anderson dead in a burned car on Butler Road. Police charged four people with murder in connection to the case. Investigators say the suspects shot, stabbed and then burned the victims in the car. Two suspects are free on bond, and two remain in J. Reuben Long Detention Center.

When coronavirus hit, Baker said she figured the case would be delayed, but hoped it would continue as planned. She said her biggest concern is that suspects in jail will post bond.
