During the investigation, witness statements led police to believe the victim was buried in her own backyard under a fire pit. At the time, Fogle had been living with Whiteside.

On June 12, investigators obtained a search warrant for the residence, where they discovered the victim’s remains inside the pit, Shore News reports.

Next court dates: October 25 and December 13

...based on comments from neighbors, police said there was reason to believe Fogle buried his girlfriend, Whiteside.

In addition, Fogle mentioned burying something in the backyard to neighbors and would become “territorial of the area when people would approach the firepit,” according to his arrest warrant.

The victim in a spring 2022 missing person and murder case was found buried in a wooden box under a firepit in a Myrtle Beach apartment complex, according to a Myrtle Beach warrant.

Fogle's warrant further states that "the couple had a well-documented history of domestic violence" including as arrest of Fogle just before Whiteside was reported missing.

According to the Myrtle Beach Police Department, Whiteside had been living with Fogle. Her brother reported her missing on May 11, 2022, saying he hadn’t seen her since around the start of that year.

Fogle reportedly had a history of domestic violence against Whiteside including an arrest not long before Whiteside went missing. Police responded to their apartment in November 2021 after he allegedly punched her in the chest, causing her to fall down, The Myrtle Beach Sun News reported. About a month later, he reportedly stole her credit and debit cards.

Fogle has a court date scheduled for Dec. 13.
