This was the breaking story on the 10pm news...

"Year-Old Suffers Cardiac Arrest, Bruises, Cuts
GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. -- Greenville County Lt. Tim Ridgeway said a 1-year-old infant was rushed to Greenville Memorial Hospital and was placed on life support on Tuesday night. Ridgeway told FOX Carolina News that Parker firefighters responded to Lot 25 at Heritage Park Trailer Park off Anderson Road just before 8.p.m to a call that an infant was in cardiac arrest. Ridgeway said as crews were performing CPR on the infant they noticed bruising and open lacerations over the child’s entire body. He said early indicators point to a severe case of child abuse. According to Ridgeway, the infant is in grave condition."

"Ridgeway said the infant’s mother, a 4-year-old child, and the woman’s boyfriend were inside the trailer when emergency personnel arrived."

Both the mother and the b/f (he's not the father of either child) were taken in for questioning.
 
Just heartbreaking. why, why, why....

There are so many options available that don't include beating a 1 y o baby half to death. I hope whoever is responsible is treated in kind by the new roommates in county lockup. :behindbar :slap:
 
My prayers to this poor baby and the 4 year old. I hope that the baby recovers and they are both placed in a loving home.

FOX Carolina was the only station on scene when deputies escorted the woman’s boyfriend, 18-year-old Timothy Massey, from the trailer and placed him in the back of a patrol car. He was charged with assault and battery with intent to kill on Wednesday morning.

No charges were filed against the child's mother, deputies said.

Emergency medical workers said there were numerous bruises, lacerations and contusions on the child’s head, chest and stomach.

Ridgeway added, "It's always hard to see a child injured like this. It's traumatic for everybody to see something like this because they're so helpless."

OMG, I almost vomited when I saw this!

A 1-year-old boy is fighting for his life at Greenville Memorial Hospital today, as his mother's boyfriend faces a charge that he struck the child with his fist and a belt.

Timothy Leroy Massey, 28, is charged with assault and battery with intent to kill, according to an arrest warrant from the Greenville County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies responded to a report about 7:50 p.m. Tuesday that a 1-year-old wasn't breathing at Massey's home at 2011 Anderson Road, Lot 25, said Deputy Matt Armstrong.

They arrived to find the child's mother, Christina Angelina Miraglia, and Massey kneeling near the child, who had bruising to the head, chest and stomach, he said.

Massey dropped the child from three or four feet before striking him with a fist, a deputy alleged in a warrant.

This is so disgusting. How could anyone treat a little baby like that--and the 4 yr old was abused, also. Bite marks? Give me a break!
What a disgusting piece of work that "boyfriend" is. Who would want to be with someone like him anyway? YUCK.
 
MPO here but that mother made the choice to bring that piece of (boyfriend) into her home, with her children...I think she should at the very least be charged with failure to protect.

ITA plus the fact she was in the home when it happened. I can't see how a mother could stand by and let anyone do something like this - the dude should at the very least have a cast iron skillet imprint on his face (and I'm not being sarcastic - I seriously mean it and know I would have to kill anyone that tried to hurt my baby.)
 
It will forever escape me how/why these stupid women let these violent, toxic men around their INNOCENT children. :furious: It makes me SICK.
IMO, at the very least, the "mother" should be charged with child endangerment/neglect. There is NO WAY that this could have gone on without the mother knowing. GMAB.
I pray that this helpless child will make a full recovery, and that the perpetrator will be punished to the fullest extent of the law (even though, IMO, that's not enough!!!)

I can answer that one. I've worked with those babes. The excuse is, "If I don't let him abuse the kids, he'll leave me. Then, I won't HAVE a man."

They seem to think that makes some kind of sense.

IMHO, those women don't have a MAN, in any case. :mad:

I gotta say it Lovejac...this little one is in a far better place now. Better that he was taken now than after years of suffering. I hope the sibling is in state custody in the bestest foster home there is...oops that would be mine...so the next bestest foster home. I wish him normalcy, stablilty, structure, and every advantage life has to offer but most of all I wish him lots of love for the rest of his life and perhaps being away from his egg donor will allow him to live a very long life unlike his sibling.
