Is the photo a stock photo or an actual photo from Wednesday? Anyone know?
I'm asking because there's a fire truck and an ambulance in the photo.

This is the location. I doubt it is a stock photo. Most likely ambulance is there in case of injury to divers and is standard procedure. Don't understand the fire trucks but they seem to send them out for everything.

This search drew me to SM. :headache: I always feel dirty after reading anything the M's wrote. YUCK :bath::bath: They should have followed the gag order. What possible benefit to calling the solicitor "Little Jimmy"? So childish. The hateful attitude towards a missing girl and her family won't win them anything with a jury. Innocent people and "women of God" don't act like that.

Galatians 5:22-23 (NIV)
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

Horry County police and fire personnel spent several hours assisting the solicitor’s office with an investigation in the vicinity of Waccamaw Boulevard and the Intracoastal Waterway, but the purpose of the investigation remains a mystery.

I agree that the ambulance was there for the divers. Hope they found something.

I guess there has been no follow up to the search of the bridge area. Maybe the silence is indicative of this being related to Heather's case because of gag order....

If this was related to Heather, they may or may not reveal what lead them to this spot. If they have a reliable source willing to give any information, they won't burn it. I hope someone is talking or giving up any information that they can. Personally, I don't think she is far from where they killed her. It is a lot of ground to cover, but if she was put into the water, she could be weighed down and it could take yrs for her to surface. These two are not professionals, they are dumb, but just have that dumb luck for now. It will run out.

Did anyone bookmark the recent article ( came out after murder charges dropped) which quoted Debbi Elvis saying they really needed tips regarding Heather's whereabouts because the Elvises couldn't search because it would taint evidence. I wish I could find it because I would like to see this discussed because I don't understand why they can't.

Other families of the missing search for their loved ones. TIA if anyone could find and post the article.

I transcribed a quote from the press conference about this. It's post #754 on the "Trial Date" thread. I'm not sure if that's what you're talking about, but here's a direct link: http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showthread.php?291468-Trial-date-set-for-Sidney-and-Tammy-Moorer-2&p=12408974#post12408974

HTH.

Thanks, Surfside, that's the one. I guess it means if the Elvises found evidence of Heather themselves on a search, it may seem questionable and that evidence would then not be used? Confusing to me; I had not heard of this before. Thank you for finding this! Emma

You're quite welcome, EmmaRose. I think the gist of this is that any "evidence" not found by the proper authorities has to be questioned for its integrity. The assumption has to be that it could be tainted due to the person who "discovered" it having an ulterior motive.

I haven't heard of a family not searching but especially in this case it makes sense. Rumors and accusations being thrown at everyone. Don't want to chance any potential evidence getting thrown out because there is doubt about how it was found. Must be hard for them to sit back (especially during the bulk of searches early on), I know I'd want to be out looking for my loved one. But at the same time, you don't really want to stumble upon something horrific either. I sure wish something would turn up soon, anything!
I got excited when I heard about the search by the bridge a couple weeks ago..but once the murder charges were dropped, I'm not so sure they found anything, or if it's even related to this case.

Does anyone recall the first time anyone checked Heather's condo after her car was found?

According to TE, he returned home and called everyone he could think of. No mention of going out to look for her.

The only thing I recall is Heather's mother and sister going to the condo a few days later to collect some of her items.

I'm not sure about that either. If it was reported in the news, I don't remember hearing about it.

I just assumed LE obtained a warrant to enter her apartment after she failed to show for work on the 20th. I vaguely remember hearing something about her roommate being allowed to go back to their apartment after she returned to MB because LE had already cleared it. But, I don't remember what the timeframe was on that either.

I remember that many people wanted to know why a description of her clothes wasn't mentioned, and it was implied that LE found the clothes she'd worn on her date that night at her apartment. But again, I don't know what date or time LE became aware of that. If I had to guess, I'd say the 20th.

Do you know when the news first reported her missing?

The first post on WS is dated 12/21/13 and amazingly the link still works!

Then, around 2:42 a.m., Elvis' phone was located at Longbeard's restaurant in the Carolina Forest area, Edens testified. It remained there until 2:56 a.m., and a minute later, it was heading to Augusta Plantation Drive and back to the restaurant, returning at 3:01 a.m.

From 3:02 to 3:15 a.m., Edens testified that Elvis' phone remained at Longbeard's. Then, starting at 3:16 a.m., the phone was heading back to Elvis' residence, arriving there three minutes later.

I've always had a strong feeling that TM may have left heather along hwy 378 going toward I95. Her little WDW blog refers to that stretch as "roadkill hwy."

Or in Carolina Forest...or thereabouts...because of a FB post where TM said she was going to go make a visit to Carolina Forest to see, IIRC, her pretty little friend.
Wonder if she was referring to the woods around Longbeards
