SA TX = Substance Abuse Treatment (Tx = Treatment like Rx = Prescription)
CTE = Career and Technical Education? I saw that on one website, but don't know if true because of heading EDU. There would be training and education for whatever inside job they work, in addition to preparing someone who's eligible for release at some point. I'm not sure what kind of job she could get in prison because so many things can turn into weapons and I think she liked what she did (butchering someone) and would do it again. She has very little to lose at this point.

I've been looking for weeks for a training handbook I had found on the web but was never able to get back to it :( It had very detailed information. I hate when I click link to link to link and can never find something again. :gaah:

Here's some other random/related stuff.
http://azmemory.azlibrary.gov/cdm/ref/collection/statepubs/id/19064

...The ADC has promulgated its classification policy in Department Order 801, effective September 1, 1996. This policy scores inmates on a number of traditional factors (e.g., severity of current offense, prior institutional adjustment) to establish the each prisoner’s public risk score and his institutional risk score. Each score ranges from 1 (lowest risk) to 5 (highest risk). Thus, an inmate who presents a significant risk...

DOC differentiates between Public Risk and Institutional Risk

https://www.ncjrs.gov/pdffiles1/nij/grants/197045.pdf

...Validated STG members who end up in SMU II (or m a Special Management Area [SMA] m the case of females) are locked down m their cells except for qee hours a week set aside for showers and recreation. Although SMU II security procedures allow only strictly controlled inmate movement, there is still a considerable risk to both staff and inmates. Correctional OfEcers assigned to SMU II must wear eye protection, vests and other security gear when dealing with the highly volatile population m the unit. …

Me: It goes on to discuss gang issues and the risks involved, but it's more info on SMU.

IIRC, inmates are required to pass "education" requirements in how to behave. They have to pass them before they get to try for privileges in the phase system. The process starts in "intake." I'm betting Jodi so far is out of compliance.

I don't really care what color her cage is painted. Not as if she'll ever be in a position to decide what color to paint it. She doesn't even have the choice when to change her bed sheets...

She doesn't have a choice when to change her clothing, and she's required to take a shower all 3 times a week (or whatever it is) when she has a shower scheduled. I bet a guard watches to make sure she does it right. She can't buy more orange clothing for the time being (I was digging the used T-shirt she was wearing in her mugshot.). The outfit gets changed at shower time. IIRC, the shower is in manacles.

I read this in DOC handbooks, so I might not have it all exactly right 'cos it's been a while.

The DOC administration might only be using "the cell we showed you was a DP cell" as a disguise for another motive entirely, namely some "intel". I would guess the DP cell is not on the end of a row, and they needed Jodi to be as isolated as possible due to her manipulations. I doubt the DP prisoners are ever as much of a threat to the efficiency of PV as Jodi is. Via Sheriff Joe, they have her number!

I think of Hannibal Lector and his cell being a the end.

What I find most facinating is the reactions of her "supporters". No matter what incontrovertible fact might be brought forward, they find an implausible excuse for it. I wonder what goes on in their brains. It would be interesting if someone would study this phenomenon, but just look at the mass insanity of ordinary Germans before WW2. I guess it just comes down to humans being easily led.

I also find that aspect of this story fascinating -- and scary -- perhaps another cautionary tale as to how easily people can be deceived... or believe what they want (choose) to believe?

What is that thing with cheese?

Looks like Enchiladas with a side of a good steak Man, I need my tex mex. Tupinamba's has moved again. This will be the third location. My first tex mex was there on northwest highway in the 60's. A happening spot for Dallas. Close to Love Field and stewardess and apartments and bars up and down the street. Then they moved and stayed for eighteen years (I saw my first autopsy photo's of a woman that had been throat cut and one breast almost hacked off. She lived at the Sherwood Apartments. I don't think her murder was ever solved. Her little boy found her on the floor, went outside and sat telling a neighbor that she was sleep but had blood on her.), and I'm sure we will go to the new place. It is now in a hot location in Dallas again.

My dh had his first jalapeno peppers there. He was gulping down water (doesn't work, eat a tortilla with butter) beads of sweat was rolling down his forehead, and his nose was running, face flushed. I called him a sissy. He has had jalapenos every day since.

I don't hate CMJA, she disgusts me. Her refusal to take accountability for her crime bothers me the most. Her attitude during her trial, facilitated by her DT, was that Travis deserved his fate, deserved to be killed, deserved to suffer with each stab wound and a shot to his face. The method of his murder was quite personal for her. She continues to this day to feel justified about killing him. She believes her own lies, and has herself convinced she did nothing wrong.
Now she's going to put a positive spin on her pathetic situation of LWOP. The staff are "Warm and professional", the food is nutritionally balanced, blah blah blah.
Soon she will fade into obscurity. I believe she will kill herself in the next ten years or so. I don't think she has coping skills to last until "12/31/1999". Knowing she has no release date will eventually put her over the edge. Hopefully she will sign her brain over to research so scientists can study what if any biologic factors made her the way she is, and something can be learned from it, because that's the only good that can come from her lousy existence & wasteful life.
To me, she is the personification of evil. Her last statement at sentencing about Travis being conscious when she slit his throat was despicable, so full of hate. Why she chose to say that is totally beyond reason. It's like she gets great satisfaction in hurting people .

I can't imagine taking a shower under those circumstances. Only 3 showers a week in that heat, ugh! I love it. It couldn't happen to a more deserving person.

The parents of #jodiarias are claiming that her "legal team" endorses a particular fund for her appeal. Truth is, I endorse no such funds!
---

I see Nurmi is still letting them get to him - you can't fight crazy Kirk, you should know that by now.

Ain't that the truth geevee! It appears LKN has learned little, if anything, about the a's over the years.
IDK why I'm surprised at his tweet - he knew what he was getting into, and with who.
I wonder how this makes him feeeel?

For me, rather than liking or hating her, I find her fascinating.

Perhaps I've lived all these years around super normal people and didn't appreciate how lucky I was :).

I just can't wrap my brain around much of anything about her. Apparently she can come off as charismatic, pleasant, charming, erudite, etc. Yet, we have all come to see what a chameleon she is. How she presents to others is in direct correlation to how she perceives what they want her to be. I just don't get what kind of person can or would do that.

My intellectual curiosity begs for an understanding as to who she really is and how she came to be that person.

I guess I have lived my life with so many psychotic people that to me there was no curiosity for her.... It comes down to EXTREME selfishness, an over rated sense of self worth, chronic lying and her sense of self entitlement. There are other problems but from what I can tell there is something in the water cause people like her seem to be multiplying quickly.

I get the feeling he's been chomping at the bit to let the world know he can't stand JA.

Hmm... I didn't know LKN is still part of her legal team.

Otherwise, why not just say "truth is, I am no longer part of her legal team and when I was I endorsed no such fund(s), nor do I endorse such fund(s) now!" instead?

Then again, what should I expect? LKN is the expert in World Geography not Linguistics. Maybe he can sign up for one of Jodi's classes in Perryville next semester.

I'm sure MDLR would be able to access PV without much ado. She was on the killer's team for years. PV staff are probably familiar with her from other cases as well as CMJA'S. MDLR probably has credentials that would facilitate a visit.

I doubt it. She was a mitigation specialist, now the case is over legal involvement would be too. And she wouldn't be allowed to visit as a "friend". Legally she's not allowed to. There has to be a gap of something like two years between her working as a professional on CMJA's case and visiting on a personal level (in the DOC guidelines). MDLR will have to concentrate on other clients now.

I'm waiting for his book about her. It might be years away, but I wouldn't be surprised if he eventually spills the beans.

It seems as though nurmi is fine with lies being told as long as the lies are not about him.

Nurmi's attempt at damage control? The only way he can do that is to change his name and move to another state. This is his second tweet in three days. The tweets validate to me that he strongly dislikes the inmate. As for Willmott, she appears totally snowed over by the murderess.
I still think it was MDLR who got the killer's letter out.

I still think it was MDLR who got the killer's letter out. Willmott is still representing the killer for the restitution hearing, and MDLR is part of the team. Only Nurmi requested to withdraw.

LOL, if anybody knows that by now, it'd be KN! *hoping for book hoping for book hoping for book*

I cheer him on for anything he can do to publicly distance himself professionally from that. :D Absolutely refute publicly every lie that she attributes to her "legal team" that included him. I know that legally she can say that because of that Semantics Game again. Legal team in this instance can fit because of the girl lawyer and mitigation specialist who found zipzeronothingnadabiggooseegg mitigating about her client.

I still don't get the other one supporting her. I'm female and I'd really hate to think it's because of gender. I do appreciate that the male, who would have more of a chance be taken in my her, saw it for what it was immediately.
