Just had to add before I go to sleep, most of the stuff JA writes in her journal in May seem to correlate with her conversations with Flores before her arrest. Between her talks with Flores and the info she was gleaning out of others, she constructed May's entries as if Flores was stupid and couldn't figure out he'd just talked to her about most of that stuff.
Some of the other stuff, she might have gotten from questioning people in AZ and Utah about what the police wanted to know. I really find it hard to believe she didn't realize the police would go through his emails and facebook. But on her call with flores, he subtly warned her not to go in it because she'd get caught. He preserved evidence with that warning, so she had to go back to her journal and make up reasons for what they'd find.
I love the way she tells Flores she didn't go in Travis' email and what she really did was close the open browser window. Flores says okay, and we're getting a warrant and will be able to see if you logged in there from Yreka. "I'm telling you right now that I did." Huh? You just said you didn't. Busted.
I knew she was using her May and June writings to cover her crime, but now I think I see when she wrote them and how they were directed at Flores to prove what she said in the phone calls with him. I might be slow on the draw, but I wasn't correlating that the information in them is exact stuff she'd told Flores. Her messages with Ryan post murder might also be. What's funny, though, is how much she hyped up Ryan, but in the journal, I don't even think she mentions him at all from June 1st through the end of the trip. "Utah was awesome" was about all we got. The mind of a killer...interesting. She didn't go into detail about Ryan because 1, he wasn't the real focus, and 2, she could not explain it to Flores when he asked what meetings she'd gone to in Utah.
I am really of the mindset that she really, really didn't think they'd suspect her. Therefore, any idea that she did any planting of pictures on his camera is really a stretch. She did not want any trace of her in AZ, and she took the pics to lower Travis' guard. She didn't think deleted pics would be recovered or she would have taken that memory card.
