Just to throw my 2 cents in about truckdrivers...I drove truck in 1994 (I am female) w/my BF as a team for 6 months (I wimped out when snow arrived in the mountains in the Northwest.) I loved it until I realized I was afraid to drive with chains on up or down a mountain with snow. But anyway...I have no bad experiences (as shortlived as it was!!) with any men on the road. They were very helpful, friendly, polite and generous. Believe me I looked for "what lurked out there" and never found it. Actually, I have found them to be a comfort on the road to this day.
But, I do believe there are many instances that a truckdriver has been reponsible for missing/murdered women and men. But there are more good than bad, IMO.
