I met Stevie back in 1981, she used to come into my dad's store down on 5th Avenue in Scottsdale. It was so cool, she always had tennis shoes on, jeans and a t-shirt, tiny little gal just like me. A few years later, I was invited to do a booth at Camelview Plaza during Christmas, with my bread dough ornaments. It's getting close to 9:00 pm and closing time for the mall on a holiday weekday and who strolls up but Stevie, out doing some late night gift shopping. She remembered me, bought quite a few ornaments that I personalized for her.
I don't know what she's like around fans, but one on one, she is such a sweetheart, really down to earth.
He dad played country music at a little hole in the wall bar about a 1/2 mile away from my dad's store back in the 50's-60's.
Just some trivia.......:seeya:

Right on! :rocker:

I :luv: Stevie. She has the best voice ever.

Seal RIP?

Chris Whitley........was that the Seal song? If so, oops, but I burned out that CD too!:floorlaugh:

OK. My mistake, just checked the link, that was Seal's "Crazy" and yes, he's still alive, the other was Chris Whitley and he is gone.

Random Thoughts...

It was hotter than Hades today... 110 degrees.

In this heat you can pretty much make ONE run outdoors for errands and such.... Clump your needs into one store. Try not to burn your butt on your leather car seats... It really is ...Hell on Earth.

It's good not to see Jodi Arias' face or hear her voice for a while. I hope the A/C sucks at Estrella Jail.

My Diamondbacks are GOOD this year!

I liked my Boyfriend better when he traveled a LOT for work.

The sidebar transcripts are funny. I think Judge Stephens needs a good stiff drink.

Hey HO... Had lunch with my 27 year old baby boy today. He still needs me ... I know this because he calls me every single day.

This one's for you, HO!!

Yes, and my dog is going to have to learn to lay down... Which is good because he learned how to stand on the window button in the old car. He hates ups trucks and we had some interesting rides...:floorlaugh:

My mom just sent me this and it goes along with my posts last night about my son growing up so fast. Of course, it made me cry again!

"You will never have this day with your children again. Tomorrow, they'll be a little older than they were today.
This day is a gift.
Breathe and notice.
Smell and touch them; study their faces and little feet and pay attention.
Relish the charms of the present.
Enjoy today, mama. It will be over before you know it."
- Jen Hatmaker

My grandmother was a clean freak and spent much time pursuing that endeavor, often missing out on messy baking sessions with kids, etc. because of it. Her only son died at the age of 19 of Muscular Dystrophy. Her only daughter died at the age of 40.

When my son was just a wee thing, Ga'Ma looked at him, then looked at me wistfully and said, "Take the time to spend with him. The dirt will be here tomorrow!" My heart broke for her, because I knew she'd learned the hard way from whence she spoke.
