I wish. Sigh.... Since I can work from home at times and went part time I babysit the Granddaughter. The Granddaughter that arrived a year after our Son returned home after 5 years of schooling. I was fore score against but caved. Miss Avery arrived from the deep South of the U.S. I barely sit. She is 2 years old now. After 4 hours every a.m. she is finally ready to settle. Did I mention she is a dog? A black Lab. High blood line of hunting dog. Lordy at 57 she keeps me busy but I love her more than life. I cant wait to walk her again. She loves the snow with her frisby and soccer balls but due to temps time is short outside.

Oh Bravo ~ I remember that "pup" during the 1st trial for the psychopath goddess!
You had her picture on your avatar. I love black Labs! My cousin has one and that dog is a riot. She is so sneaky. She will "steal" any thing she can find that is yours, and then bring it to you to "show" you what she had. That was her "game." Then she would take off with it so you would chase her. She found out quickly that if you gave her a dog biscuit, she would gladly trade your shoe, (or what ever she had) for that biscuit.
Labs are so smart!

We had taken a trip to Louisiana to meet up with another cousin one summer. When we got home, my cousin had three $100.00 bills left over and she laid them on the counter. About 15 minutes later, here comes Shelby (the lab) with those 100 dollar bills in her mouth! It was so funny, although my cousin didn't think it was :giggle: We both chased her with dog biscuits, but hey... she liked this game and now she had two people chasing her. After 10 minutes are so, she finally gave them up...but they were soaked and one had to be taped back together. I had tears in my eyes I was laughing so hard...my cousin, not so much. She was NOT amused.

It's so darn cold. I may look stupid but I am wearing a Northface jacket under my coat.
I just don't care how it looks. I am going to stay as warm as I can.

Stay safe and warm. I use to love winter. When I skied. Are u up for skiing?

I am warm so far. Just don't like not being able to see farther than a foot cause of snow. :(. Love to read books, watch movies and EAT. I don't know how to ski. I was raised in Texas, the hot humid part of Texas. I did water ski when I was young and brave. I couldn't even balance myself now. Lol. Think I will go look for something to eat. :)

Make sure you have enough food, water, pet food, a shovel, salt for sidewalks, batteries and or candles. If you have a wood burning stove or fireplace. Bring some wood closer to the house. Charge all phones, computers and use sparingly if you lose power. Let someone know you are home, like a neighbor, maybe have neighbors do buddy checks via quick phone calls. Have all medication that you need. Dress inlayers if you lose power. Open up cabinet doors so plumbing gets house heat and does not freeze....you can also wrap towels and rags around indoor plumbing. Use string or tape to keep in place. Make sure all hoses are disconnected from outside faucets. Also....if your furnace has the chimney coming out the side of the house instead of the roof, keep check that snow or ice does not clog up the opening. I used to live in
Chicago.....anyone else have more to add? And pray, send positive thoughts or meditate, whatever, helps you.

In Kansas and we start the storm with 1/2 ice and snow 1-4 inches, we never know what happens....and then it goes east and gets worse. Will keep watch on here for anyone that updates. Right now at 5:23 CT it is just grey and cold outside.

Awesome advice. Thank you MsJosie.

Ummmmm  I didn't understand a thing you said. I don't know what is more confusing to me. Your "pvc pipe" talk or all that computer talk about hard drives that the defense's experts... < (and I use that term loosely) talked about on the stand.

You really do amaze me Bernina! You know something about everything! I'm borrowing stealing Truth Detector's words in saying that I'm willing to bet Ransom's husbands shoes that your IQ is higher than Einstein Ann Arias !!

LOL! It's called "getting through life on a limited budget with 2 kids, no child support, and holding jobs that pay decently found in a male dominated blue collar work force".

And I refuse to pay someone $150 per hour to fix my trucks, or $1000 to replace 2 lousy 55 foot water lines under my house where the material costs are $125.
But I DO make a mean Emu Egg quiche! :floorlaugh:

You and Ricki have a -17 degree's wind chill factor :fainted: YESorNO has
4 feet plus more snow? Spellbound has  18 inches ? I can't remember how much snow Ricki has, possibly because I can't count that high
And you feel guilty Bravo for ONLY 2 feet of snow? :fainted:

I guess with the East coasters and Canada members, you guys are more or less used to it ??? I just came in to post that we are having our first major snowstorm, which is odd that we've been really lucky this year. I have daffodils that are already coming up. We have had some really cold days, with a few minus 0 wind chills. But tonight and all day tomorrow we will be getting 8-12 inches, depending to which station you are listening to. And it's going down to the single digits for the rest of the week. I guess they'll have to close Kentucky down

And then little Ms. Bernina skips in here with it's 70-74 degree's here :p

We are at 59-60 degrees in Seattle area~~grass is almost resady for first mow of year. I'm hoping temps stay this way~lastvyear we had a cold snap right when my blueberries and plum tree booming and fruit just didn't happen

Drooling. Here it is 4 degrees outside with 8 or so inches of snow coming tonight and high temps below 20 for the rest of the week..:(

Looking for something to eat is a solution to a great number of things, least of all being hungry. :). Stay warm, Curious!

Well we did not get any snow. All we have is a steady cold rain.

Good morning WS Friends:

Jury selection will start tomorrow with opening arguments scheduled for Wednesday in the trial of John Brickman Wall. Wall is accused of murdering his wife, Doctor Uta von Schwedler in their bathtub in similar fashion to convicted killer Martin MacNeal's murder of his wife Michelle. Xanax was found in von Schwedler's system even though she did not take Xanax. Wall was a Utah pediatrician.

Well,...........la dee dah.

This is NOT cool.

Another foot/ankle specialist that DOES take my health plan.............and they're booked for 2 weeks.
Now I'm waiting to call another specialist in Flagstaff, like about 50 minutes north of me, while the referral from my MD is sent through the fax/web/whatever.

And if this doc can't see me, then my doc is going to try Cottonwood, same old 50 minutes.

Like, REALLY?
I could have just slapped Popsicle sticks and duct tape on my foot, put an old horse shoe on my heal and been done with this.
This break is just an hour shy of being 7 days old.

I don't know whether to cry or swear.:gaah:

Bernina, it is a good thing you are not having something more life-threatening. I would hate to think what would happen then. Unbelievable!

Bernina, don't you have an Urgent Care down the road from you? Somewhere in town? It's just what it sounds like, or if your doctor is booked up, you can maybe go there and they fix it for the meantime.

Hi Everyone!
I have had a nice break from JA. I see you all are trying to stay warm. I hope you have good weather soon.

Bernina, so sorry about you foot. I hope you get some relief soon.

I have been catching up on some of the YouTube videos that I watch. There is one that I think some of the more mature ladies might like, but she is great for everyone. Her channel is Elle Is For Living. She does makeup, both high end and drug store, book chats and best of all her Sunday Chats. This year she is focusing on being content with what you have. She is such a kind person. Too bad JA did not focus on some of the things that Elle speaks about.

I just thought if you have a minute before the trial begins again you might like to check her out.

Does trial start tomorrow or Weds?

Everyone stay safe and warm.

Bernina , I am so sorry to hear all this. Remind them you are in pain. Them and all their Dr.S!! they are the pain. If it were me, I'd swear. I know I'd feel better. Take care.:loveyou:

Bernina,
so sorry about your foot. Sounds like your are part of an HMO plan. Hope not. I can go to an urgent care, my doctor or ER. Of course urgent care is more costly and ER is even moreso but it beats having your bone heal abnormally and suffering later on. And believe me, as you age your bones will suffer! Uh, sorry. :(. But please take care of your foot. Sounds like you have to watch your pennies and we all do that nowadays. I am going to pray for you. I know you said you might be agnostic but I have seen God do great miracles and I will pray for Him to do that for yo. I love your heart, how you love animals and your children and you are good to all of us. Only believe. :)
