Thanks for the link, I was able to read about 20 pages for free preview... LG, I think you could right a better book.
Basically, society does not want to convict a young mother of the horrible crime of murdering her child.
It was not her childhood that made her do it - it was her adulthood that did.
CA and GA are enablers and, JB convinced the jury that OCA was the victim. The end.
Yes, what little I read impressed me with how she grasps that concept (of people refusing to believe mothers kill their children along with the belief that if your mother doesn't love you then who will) at the beginning.
Because I think that's where Baez really played the jury and also somewhat played the general public. People were on the fence about whether or not this was an accident because they could not "get" that this average looking wasp female with her life ahead of her could murder her beautiful 2.5 year old child. Found it hard to believe when FCA had so many other avenues of escape than murder.
Every since I watch Susan Smith beg for her babies return on camera and "knew" she was lying, I have no problem accepting that mothers can and do kill their young to" improve" the mother's life. But many people simply cannot comprehend it.
