I haven't been watching the cable news coverage since the verdict. If I happen to see a news clip of KC's reaction to the verdict, I look away. Can't watch it. I look for updates on news websites, and come here to blow off steam and to chat with like-minded folks.
Same for me. I have an interest in reading any book written by Yuri Melich or Jeff Ashton - other than that, no thanks.
However, before we are all "done", please take 5 minutes to write to your state legislators and tell them you want:
1. Caylee's law
2. No compensation for jurors (I'm in favor of never, but at least 6-9 months)
3. Changes in the jury selection process
.end the practice of jury selection experts;
..don't allow anybody to get out of serving - unless related to defendant or attorney or similar exigent circumstances;
..education/instruction class prior to first day of trial (capital case) to explain what is/isn't evidence, what are opening statements, explanation of final jury instructions, etc
..increase the per diem payment to jurors
..eliminate sequestered juries
The above is what I addressed in my letters to legislators and governor.
It is easy to find email and physical addresses, but if you cannot, PM me and I'll do my best to find them for you.
