ALV was on the stand for a week! I wonder what makes the Judge think the DT will have this one in and out in a day??

IMHO, the new witness for the DT will be very limited on what he can say and what can be asked of him. My only question is has he already interviewed JA and spent another 44 hours with her trying to make sure that he is right?

I will be interested to know exactly what he is done with JA as opposed to testifying about tests in a general manner. I think that is what is going to happen, the new witness will be testifying in a general manner regarding the testing and why or why not it is appropriate or what Dr. D should have done. It will be more about the good Dr. DeMarte than it will be about JA. IMHO.

I hope anyways. I don't want to hear any more about certain aspects of JA's sex life, childhood and various other unproven facts.

I think the lesser charge inclusion still has to be ruled on by the Judge. I see both sides...I don't want her to skate on a conviction of a lesser charge, but I know the all or nothing premise of M1 is worrisome to some folks....

ITA. I wonder if JM knew the lesser charge would probably go to the jury via the instructions from JSS so he figured he had nothing to lose? I wonder also if the jury knows the only charge coming from JM is M1, reflecting his confidence and conviction? Hmmm...I could wonder all day sometimes!!

Me too! I spend a good portion of my day wondering!

From what I've read of other cases he's testified at, in a last minute situation, he's known for tearing down the testimony of other psychs. One Appellete Court case in Texas referred to him as a "hired gun". Should be very interesting!!

Watching an interview with Judge Strickland (KC's first Judge). I have great respect for him. He says it was sickening to watch the post-verdict celebration. He says Baez was very gracious but the rest of them were over the top. He mentions Dorothy Simms dancing in front of the media which brings me to my point.

Why is there a lawyer like Dorothy Sims on pretty much every high profile case? In this trial we have that Defense woman who wears the gaudy jewellery? Why do we have them touching, almost cuddling, sweet-talking with female defendants? If there are folks who are interested in psychological stuff then these are the women to study. It really makes me sick and makes me wonder what is going on in their minds and lives for them to behave in the way they do. I think this jury is well aware of the inappropriate touching that goes on with JA and her team and they would love to ask questions about it if they could!

I agree. From what I have read he is more of a clean up guy, trying to debunk testimony regarding testing etc.

I am sure that JM will be able to through that out there and see what happens. The new doc has a CV a mile long, there is no way that testimony won't be brought out by JM. That door will be opened rather quickly.

I am hoping I get to see a good portion of it live on Wed.

The dancing definitely uncalled for.

As for JA and her team, my only guess is that they are hoping to make JA seem like a likeable person who is not scary at all. Thats part of the DT tactics in most cases I have seen. It hasn't worked for me in most of them, FCA, Brad Cooper and few others I can think of off the top of my head that I have watched. Its like they are trying to say ok, they murdered somebody but it won't happen again.

I'm with you! I have heard more about Jodi's sex life than I ever wanted to know! I am a little intrigued to see what this guy thinks he has to offer. At this point what could he possibly have to add that is going to have any weight against the mountain of evidence that screams premeditated first degree murder?

I think he will just have more input on making the diagnosis fit the crime as the dt wants to portray it.

No real value added IMHO.

We need a BIGGER barf emotion-thingy if he's going back into her sex life!

Even if he does negate some of Dr. D's opinion, JM hasn't based this case on mental health issues (unlike the DT), even if the jury can't decide if she has BPD or anxiety, depression whatever, imo JM HAS driven home premeditated murder, period.

Going to find the BIG emo-thing now!!

The State vs Jodi Arias~ Travis Alexander murder trial is what the page is named. I would post the link but am on my phone. Worth seeing.

Edited because I had the name wrong

I wonder if Katiecoolady knows about this yet? Did she trace or photocopy? Donovan must be listing for her. Im sure someone notified the magazine by now and informed them what a homicidale killer is doing.

JA's "original" artwork :floorlaugh:

Jodi is already exposed.

Claiming it's real isn't the same thing though.

@Jodiannarias: I'm working on a little project that is going to help support domestic violence shelters.I'm hoping it'll be off the ground this coming week.

JM: I'm working on a little project that is going to help support the Travis Alexander family. I'm hoping it'll be on death row around June 4, 2013.

Just jumping off this, I wonder: does the narcissism that is a feature of whatever personality disorder/constellation of disorders experienced by Arias render her completely oblivious to the damage she's done to those genuinely affected by DV? Those in the trenches are appalled by this defense, because it causes difficulty to those contending with real DV. It promotes greater stigma and fear, can cause donations to dry up, and so on.

The best "little project" Arias could do, vis-a-vis DV, is rescind her testimony regarding DV; she is not a victim.

Kind of ironic the DT is fighting so hard for the mental health angle, considering Jodi sat on the stand and said no one ever diagnosed her with any mental health issues. These are the things that make me feel like I am watching the longest Monty Python movie ever!!
