Ok, this is what I found: (ewww, I even went to JAII to get some info)

On JAII on Jan 3 MM posted in the comments. there is a lot of back and forth between him and others and he states he would lie for Jodi. (I know, I don't know if this is the ACTUAL MM but it does sound like he knows Jodi in his comments).

On this site someone asks if MM will testify and the question and comments below note when JM asked Jodi about MM and whether or not he would back up her story, clearly inferring that he would lie for her.

this website talks about the issue of her trying to send him coded messages in the magazine four days before he was to be interviewed by the prosecutor (which also calls his integrity into question):

MidwestMama, take the link to that "other site" out of your post. Wouldn't want you to miss things tomorrow. :seeya:

OMG Juan is on telly in Australia .. just looked up and saw him .. awwwwwwwww ...

If all the above is true, why were they so quick to believe Travis was a pedophile when the DT confronted them with the forged letters?

Because Nurmi lied to them and told them he had proof of their authenticity?

There are many, many things here that are unsubstantiated. In fact, what we don't know outnumbers what we do know as fact 100:1 :)
If the mods didn't have a problem with our posts, then I think we're good. They are the only ones who run the show. And even they don't tell us what to think or how to feel. JMO

I was point specific about financial misconduct.

I do not and would not imply, infer, insinuate, accuse or declare someone was misusing funds unless I had proof of said misconduct or a link to an official accusation or legal action taken for misconduct.

We'll agree to disagree.

In the 48 hours interview JA stated that MM would never betray her and he was her ally. On cross examination JM asked her if she told anyone about the alleged abuse by Travis and she said MM. JM then asked if this was the same MM who would never betray her, who was her ally and who told investigators he would never lie for her. As for Jm threatening MM with perjury charges I believe that was rumor based on hope.

No, not rumor. Shanna Hogan has stated this was said at a hearing open to the media. It has been posted on previous threads so I don't have a link. HLN reported she said MM was the author of the pedo letters and she was making it clear she can't say that he was, but Juan did indeed tell him that.

Woah,
I think the Hughes, while I don't know them, do deserve some consideration. They aren't just witnesses thinking of self preservation. I never ever had that impression of these people. They are grieving over the unnecessary death of a close friend and, with all due respect, my heart goes out to them and will for their loss.

Again, I hope I am not coming across as snarky but this is my two cents worth.:twocents: To those who make mean comments about them I ask: What if it were your best friend who was violently brutally murdered by his ex? :waitasec:
How would you deal with your loss? :hero:

It is so disturbing, the way we try to excuse the perpetrator and vilify the victim. This case seems to painfully demonstrate our loss of reason and focus on what's really important. A young beloved man was murdered; not by a stranger but by someone he trusted, took places, cared about, helped unconditionally. When we ask why? Try to understand how? I think the words of those involved, like the Arias family and the Hughes, help us to learn and maybe do things hopefully better, more informed, when faced with similar scenarios.

We are not excusing JA. Sheis a cold blooded killer! Nor are we vilifying the victim. Travis did not do anything wrong. But....Skye and Chris Hughes were NOT witnesses for the prosecution. I feel bad for everyone here except Jodi. But I do question the Hughes actions.

I have to turn this HLN show off......... poor Jodi has to save part of her breakfast so she can have food for lunch, and poor Jodi has to wear a stun belt to court. Come on now, whose fault is it POOR JODI is on trial????

Really? After Dark is going to have a vote about whether Jodi loves being on trial?

Expert TH's saying she gets migraines, has to get up early,...yeah, well, I don't care.

She'll be moving over to Death Row next and can be head ache free.

Turning off tv now.

Yea, my heart's broken for her. I feel even worse getting ready to eat this Alice Springs Chicken and mashed potatoes I have in front of me .........:drumroll:

I wondered the same.

Honestly, guys, we haven't had court since last Thursday.

Two nights in a row, one of the Hugheses has been on HLN in an "exclusive".

I think it 's entirely on topic to discuss them while we have no trial to rehash.

MOO, but no need for a separate thread for the Hugheses.

This would be one dead thread if we couldn't discuss what was on TV while we are on trial break.

BBM- I think what people are forgetting is Nurmi lied to them and said they had proof in Travis' handwriting, which would alarm anyone, especially a parent. They found out later that the letters were fakes. They never testified to give their side of the story and the defense was allowed to only show portions of that email (through Alyce Laviolette, and out of context) that portrayed Travis in a bad light.

Yes! Even LaViolette stated there were pages missing from the thread she was given and that it was hard for her to follow because there were so many exchanges and JW had given her duplicates to boot. She was scrambling, lol.

Yes, she's insufferable, not all-powerful. For the lives she has directly and irrevocably damaged, she's the worst thing that ever happened; but the sensationalism of this case has left reason and proper perspective in its wake. Now, she's THE face of evil, having nudged out, apparently, the serial rapists/spree killers and the world's most infamous, mass torturing and murdering dictators from their top positions. It's as though her badness is never quite bad enough on its own terms, but has to be contiually augmented, fictionalized, even, to satisfy a hunger for it. For all the people who are so spiritually gifted, with their sixth sense for the palpable chill of soullessness, haven't they heard the observation that evil tends to be banal? Why dress it up in a scary costume, when that's not how it presents itself? Seems to be a lot of projecting going on when there's this fear that her badness requires extraordinary, special measures to contain it, prevent it from oozing into every corner of society.

I agree. She's your run of the mill psychopath. Nothing special about her really except she's female.

The media loves the sex and Mormon thing. IMO it has nothing to do with the murder.

Sunny-

Thank you for reposting Michael James' post.

He is entitled to his opinion regarding the Hugheses, and other people who post respectfully are entitled to theirs.

To MJ:

I understand that the Hugheses may have friends and family members who read here. But the same might be said of Judge Stephens, or ALV, Nurmi, Willmott or the mitigation specialist. And yet we make fat jokes, play fashion police, criticize Her Honor's ineptness, I mean C'MON!

Why is is fair game on those people but the Hugheses should be tiptoed about? They have made public statements to CBS and other outlets that have opened them up to conversation. I am one of those folks who can say I trust them about as far as I can throw them. As for SH's smirk, would anyone excuse the smirk on a defense witness? NO! It would be a character flaw! But because it's Sky, it's just "nerves"? I don't think so.

Again, all opinions are welcome, but the pendulum swings both ways. The friends and families of ALL folks who have inserted themselves into this case have possibly read here. That's life. I have no wish to hurt anyone, but if the Hugheses are pained by honest, thoughtful opinions about their characters, then perhaps they should refrain from reading anything but fan mail until the case is decided.

Nothing said here has been out of line.

With respect,
-Frayed

I respect your opinion too, but I can't compare the Hughes to Willy, Nermi, or the mitigation specialist who acts SO inappropriately with the defendant in court it's sickening. They, IMO, have done a deal with the devil.

I haven't seen anything in the Hughes' behavior that makes me think they're lying. If they're benefiting somehow from their appearances, they have to live with how they justify that. But I don't see any indication that they're not being truthful when they talk about how she set off their alarm bells. Any of his friends that have spoken out have pretty much said the same thing.

If it's true what Nermi did, they were lied to. And I totally understand Chris Hughes obvious animosity against Nermi when he testified. Despicable doesn't even begin to describe it. :notgood:

O' it's on topic no doubt. It's become tiresome though, and in some cases a bit contentious.
